I'm trying to think how to word it... If you've seen pictures of the Neuspeed one, or one in real life, you might say it looks better quality than the others because it's a big bling shiney thing (hey, that rhymes).

But, on the car it's all about FEEL ;) rather than "quality"

IMHO the Neuspeed feels unbalanced, it feels longer side to side than front to back. Feels a bit notchy too. The Diesel Geek feels nice because it's the only one that also shortens side-to-side as well as front-to-back (unless you buy an extra bit with the EIP). The EIP seems to have a large(ish) side to side throw between 1-2 and 3-4, but 3-4-5-6 are nicely grouped. This is where you spend most time up and down the box. 3-4-5-6 on the EIP felt nicer to me on Sie's box than the Diesel Geek does on mine. Although, mines been serviced since, and the oil change seems to have done the gearchange no end of good

I wouldn't buy a Neuspeed at that price. I wouldn't worry too much about the difference between an EIP and a Diesel Geek. Diesel Geek has brought out so fancy billet cble end, haven't quite figured what it does yet. Oh, the Diesel Geek guy (can't remember his name now), gave me EXCELLENT support. And the other thing to bear in mind is that the DG one appears to be a stock VAG part that's been modded - a bit more stealth (although EIP do a silver one).

Oh, and does anyone else think that the seat sport gear knob smoothes the gear change a little?

Extra weight and a little shorter perhaps?

Well, now I've had my SEAT Sport knob fitted (thanks Darren) I can say that it does sweeten the shift even further, I think I like the DG one better than the EIP one now :D

Top mod, even if the Aluminium is cold in this weather...

(Goes of to find a link to that heated gear knob mod)

If you were born round here you'd have hairy palms and twigs instead of fingers and you wouldn't notice the cold of the stick!! Tidy mod isn't it - one of the nicer after market knobs out there.

Feel when you drove my car back in October you said the EIP was your favourite of the three (Neuspeed, Dieselgeek, EIP) make your mind up man! ;)

Well, basing it mainly on trying Sie's EIP one, but but has the SEAT Sport Knob and realising now the difference is down to that

I bet you are bloody murder with a box of chocolates..

Mmmmmmm:think:......I know I'll have the Chocolate orange.....erm no.....maybe hazlenut cluster.......then again I love the Praline one........ ;)

The B&M is better than all these I'm afraid to say, I tried the Neuspeed one plus another one - the B&M is in a totally different league to all of these. I guess it's because it replaces the whole shifter with a much, much higher quality CNC billet and stainless steel item. The shift feels SO much more solid and positive with better weight, no notchiness at all, throw is about 30% reduced. Reverse is changed to a lockout lift up collar too, so zero chance of accidentally selecting it.

45114 is the kit for the 6-speed box - my only choice now would be the B&M having tried others before. I've seen it for £140 inc. VAT here: http://www.motorsportworld.co.uk/

Just my thoughts based on my experiences with various shifters. :)
