Hi, getting really annoyed by my boost pipes, from the turbo to the intercooler, leaking oil constantly and popping off. They have popped off twice in teo weeks at two different points. Fix the first one with a standard 90 bend and it cost me 88 quid!
Just wodered if there is any solutions out there, like new replacement kits or seals or something.
Thanks Tom

Apart from crawling under the car in my pants! this was the best i can do. This shows a specific one bolting up to an original part. On mine i have one on the pipe, one on the intercooler (for example) but not directly opposite each other. They are opposite... like that ying & yang thingy?? Hard to explain. They are bolted together with 6mm bolts and aluminium pipe separating them so you cant over-crush or distort the plates.
The only way for the pipe to come off now is if the bolts snap... Not likely.

I'll try to get a picture over the weekend.

I used PTFE tape around the seals on the end of the hoses, makes them a much tighter fit and a much more solid connection but My hoses hadnt popped off before so I dont know if this will work on yours as popping off will probably have damaged the clips?

The pipes im on about that need changing/upgranding/fixing are the pipes under the engine, to the intercooler, its a section of 3/4 pipes, 2 90 bends and a metal straight pipe. Just wondered if n e thing can be done as i cant use all my power and its annoying lol.
Thanks for all suggestions though. Cheers tom

mymorph - got a local fabricator who make poultry processing equipment! to make them. Showed the picture and gave them the pipe diameters. It helped that a few of the lads there are using 130tdi engines in old VW pickups. using Q7 turbos i think? and making there own manifolds etc..

if its the standard pipes i can offer some advice, it happened to me a few times before i fixed it.

basically bought some large heat shrink, shrank it over the joint, did 2 layers, and then secured it either side of the join with a cable tie, didnt have any more problems after that. cheap, easy and not unsightly

I ended up zip tieing mine together. After I got my forge fmic kit they haven't come off yet. I think the tabs that stop the clips are not a strong enough alloy to prevent wear from
