Hello,

I have my cupra r for about 5 days now and it drives fantasticly (sorry for my bad english i am from holland)

but i have had the feeling that 2 times when i drove it the turbo does not work.

does anybody knows what may cause this ?

I tried this afternoon after a drive the turbo did not work, to stop the car and pull out the keys and wait for a phew seconds and then started it again and the turbo works again...

is it possible i have revved the engine too hard when it was cold ?? (its about 0 celcius here now)

i hope u guys can help me...

(and btw what kinda blow off valve should i get)

Thnx in advance !!!

Greetings witalik

Sounds like LIMP MODE mate. You will need to get VAG-COM on it to find out what the error code is.

Stick with Forge for the D.V

oh i forgot to mention.

when i bought the car the seat dealer said it had 250hp

because the first owner installed a audi S3 turbo on it

and do u mean i just have to go to the dealer and ask if they kan check for error codes ?

If it's a Cupra R it will have the same turbo as an S3, They both use the K04 Turbo.

A dealer will charge you to do a diagnostics check, Where about's are you there might be someone near you with VAG-COM that could check it for you.

Is the car still running the o/e D.V ??? they are black and made of plastic. If so it might have split espcially if it's running higher boost.

no it does not charge me i got 6 months full garantie (dont know the word in english)

but the car is a CUPRA R yes, i did not know it had the same turbo as s3

the rest on the car is just stock...

but how can it go into limp mode? do u know some things what might trigger it ?

and is it bad for my engine ?

and what kind of Dump valve should i take from forge i see like 30 of them on their site.

Thnx guys for helping me out !!

BTW my whereabouts are in holland :p

LIMP MODE is ment to protect the engine after it detect's a fault. You can reset it by turning the car off and then back on, but the ECU should log the error code.
There are a lot of thing's that can cause LIMP MODE.

Have a look for the Forge 007 or if you want a bit of noise there's the Forge Split-R but not a lot of people like them.

Oh if the rest of the car is stock then it's probley NOT running 250 BHP.
It would need atleast a remap to get to this power.

what kind of difference do these dumb valves have ?

they kind of hang round local shops with other things that are dumb :D
on a more inteligent note then use the forge oo7p dump valve its what most lcr owners reccomend

hello all,

i went to the seat dealer so they can read out any error codes,

i drove to it when it was in safety mode and it said on the VAS :

turbo pressure not ok or to little

so the mechanic drove it around and said to me that the pressure is ok when it is driven.

i have an appointment so they can check it out soon,

i also noticed a rrrrrrrrr sound when i start the engine for the first time of the day esepecialy when it is cold.

And another qeustion is it true that the aircondition cannot be switched on if it is below 7 celcius ??

haha it was nearlly minus 7 here this morning..

this couldnt be something to do with the wrong oil could it..
they have hydrolic lifters and the wrong grade oil will struggle to lift the ..lifters lol
obv when warm it gets thinner
