Try euro car parts about £45 mine was and it's a hit job allow a good few hours easily, maybe more if your not "technically minded"

Common fault on mk4 golfs, relatively easy to fix.. As the inner plate has the runner for the window connected to it (well, it does on the golf)

Just called euro car parts they don't have the regulator fixing kit just the regulator at around 40 pounds so going to get that this afternoon hopefully it should be that

No need take the glass out hold it up with strong tape when you undo the 2 x 10 mm nuts
Leave the door lock alone push the plastic studs through (highlighted by the red arrows) then retrieve them when the panel is removed
removing the old one needs the rivets drilling out and i had to enlarge the holes as the bolts wouldn't fit through on the regulator
Getting to the power for the lock you need an extra pair of hands to disconnect it

get some butyl sealant on a roll to reseal the door again.

I think it was coming from the door card. Should halfords sell all the bits I need? Might just do it down there as will be allowed to use the tools

Trying to do it now got the door card off. My problem is my window is fully down so I can't get to the bolts to release the glass . How can I get the glass out?

I have tried the window is all the way down and it's solid at the bottom so I can not grab the glass and I don't want it to break

Loosen the bolts around the metal panel leaving two in the top, and remove the rest might be able to get your hand in then to help it up
