N249 Bypass - Who's done it?

Just wondering how many people have bypassed their N249, and out of those people who have reverted back? Since doing the bypass to my car it holds more boost but I'm yet to do a vagcom log to see how its going. I'd reccomend the mod to anyone but I've read of others reverting back, if you have why?

I've done it. Can't say i noticed any more boost, but the DV reaction is MUCH quicker. No lag between gear changes now.

why do it? what advantages are there, and also what disadvantages. what does the valve do??

I've done the mod and part throttle driving is greatly improved as is DV response.

Found no difference at all. My logs since have showed less boost in fact. But that might be to do with a loads of factors, warm weather being the most crucial one.

The DV sounds different too yeah, the sound is much shorter, as the DV operates quicker.

i just wanted to get the horrid old mangy pipes out, so i did the bypass when replacing with all nice new silicone ones

Didnt notice much TBH, a bit more response and it doesnt hold back boost when you request it as much

you havent bypassed the n249 with a resistor like i read in the other thread do you not have to use the resistor ?

i jsut left the n249 wiring connected, but bypassed it.

Valves are still in situ yeah. Just not plumbed in.

Same here. The valve still sits there electrically plugged in, but not connected to any vac lines.
