I brought this car and have owned it for almost a month and i am very pised off
its a 02 plate seat leon 1.6 and cost me £1800 of my own money which is alot for a 18 year old
i got the bushes changed

and noticed that there wasnt a litebulb in the boot so i put one in and the remote central locking electric windows etc no longer work
i found out that the light bulb holder in the boot had a bit of rust i dont know how that got there.
then i realised it doesnt always start up properly when its warm. i was told the throttle body was sticking so i cleaned part of that and not it happens less

next problem i had is i was driving along and the engine management light came on and was told this could be the lambda sensors but the light some times goes off

I woke up this morning and before i got into my car i noticed that all the lights on the dash were flashing and it kept beeping untill i start the car up
i also noticed the floor was wet on the driver side but not the passenger side

I thought seats are meant to be reliable and im just verry annoyed and feel like putting a slege hammer to it. But its cold outside and i dont have a hammer [:@]

dont worry bud, if you do some searching on here you will find the answer to most,

i would take the bulb out of the boot and then put a new fuse in, this happened to mine, and i can live without a bulb.

you need to find someone local with vagcom to scan your car this will tell you what is wrong so you dont go spending on stuff not needed.

i checked the fuse but it wernt that. and everybody on the forums seems to be saying it mite be the central convenice module. but havent got it checked out as im pretty much broke.

i saw your project on the golf forum and think its brilliant how you did it

Seats are reliable, they'll reliably fail with the known issues.

Just like VW's, and Audis and any other car.

You're just starting out on car ownership, and like all of us have got in at the bottom of the chain, paid bottom dollar for your car (!insurance! !petrol! !bloodyhell!). The way I worked in your situation was to fix the problems DIY - and this place is the best for getting advice to help you do that.

Known issues with Seat Leons include the door seals, pollen filter cover (to stop water getting in to the passenger side) and a known issue about sealing on the drivers side bulkhead. The door seal issue hits a lot of middle-aged cars (mine, 51-plate, has it), pollen filter is usually a botched garage service issue, and the bulkhead leak is rare.

It sounds like you have a leak. If you find that the driver's door sills are often full of water when you open them for the first time in the morning, the door seals are likely to have failed. There are a lot of answers on here to help you.

The car, like all modern cars, keeps a record of anything that it notes as a failure, in one of the car's microprocessors. A Seat, or any other VW-group dealer, can read the car's memory to find out what failures it has logged. The same software is available to anyone with a laptop, and is known as VAG-com. A polite request in the VAG-com section of the forums will probably find someone close to you who can do a reading of the fault codes logged on your ECU, the engine management computer.

I have these two problems. i looked for the drivers side bulkhead but cant figure out were it is so if you could have a picture to show me i would be very greatfull.
i have found a fix to the door seals problem on the forum but i will be looking to sort it out once the days are abit longer

I've not had that problem, and I've not seen a picture of it on here either. The best I can suggest is to search the forum and read up on the various leaks that people have found.
