I have driven one, they are great engines when fitted with a turbo, when we got the 1.4 the 1.2 was just to much money at that time for the extra power that she would not use. . .

I would not live with a 1.4 however, it suits my wife ideally, I posted as the OP was unhappy with this car, but it does suit some of us. . .

I totally agree but I just couldn't live with mine and I know someone else who gave up theirs because of how the power was, which is a shame as it's such a good looking car.

I think if the 1.2 was out when I bought mine I would of bought that and stuck with it, bit of a shame really

It's a shame SEAT don't offer the 85PS variant of the 1.2 TSi (used in the A1, Fabia and Golf) as that would make more sense than the old 1.4.

Yes, I've been expecting the 1.4 NA to be dropped. They don't do this engine in the Fabia any more preferring the 85PS TSI but for some reason it continues in Ibiza and even Polo.

Perhaps since the TSI is built by Skoda it's it cost effective for the Fabia but not for the others.
