After a ridiculous 16 week wait (cant be bothered to explain), my Leon arrived yesterday, looking very nice in Zenith Grey. Its on lease by the way.
I previously had a Megane 120dci which had its pros and cons, so having only driven the Leon for 2 days ill offer a few observations and comparisons.
Well the engine is clearly a very different animal. Much louder than the Megane the turbo kicks in with more of a jerk. That said its clearly quicker even though the bare figures on the reviews arnt much different.
The Leon outclasses the Megane on the chassis. For me it perfectly balances handling and comfort. Not as firm as I had expected. In comparison the Megane wollowed around corners.
The expected TomTom 710 on the front right dash didnt materialise instead I got the full monty one integrated with the radio etc at no extra cost. Nice surprise.
That brings me to the interior. I like the seats on the stylance, very comfy. The plastics really do seem quite cheap even in comparison to the Megane but thats outweighed by the styling of the dash which I really like.
Driving position is great, very easy to adjust. When I first got in the car it felt like I was driving an MPV but after some adjustments I managed to sit much lower and its ideal now.
Now im not very technical but I believe ive got an ipod connection under the seat and ive got various attachments in the door pocket which I think are something to do with it. Ill investigate further over the weekend but as I havnt got an ipod its probably something for the future.
I know its not an FR or a Cupra but for those who are thinking of getting a slightly more sensible motor with a bit extra comfort the Stylance seems a good choice....so far.
Anyway ill update later when ive put it through a few more paces. Ill also try to post a few pics when the weather looks up which may be useful for those considering Zenith Grey.
