I recently got myself a nice little 2.0 Sport, only to find out its an 8v so its not exactly a rocket. :banghead:

However, its still a really nice car to drive, and its still slightly faster than my corsa was (1.2 16v Ecowreck engine to 2.0 8v VW engine and the difference is maybe 1.7 sec to 60..:wtf:)

Here is the car the day i bought it

My old car. :D I read your post in the Welcome section saying that you saw the glue residue in the rear window from the SCN sticker. I peeled that one off before I traded it in, but it took that long to get it off that I just left the other two in the rear side windows.

And I've managed to trace my old car.

Like I said on SVAG when I posted in your thread (somebody on here tipped me off about it), it was well looked after when I had it. It saw a lot of the UK in the 2 years I had it! :)

New Goodies!

I got bored of the plain looking area between the arches, and since im not quite rich enough to buy the wheels i want i decided to liven up the brakes instead.
Forgive the minging wheels, the brake pads are made of coal i think o.o
Green Stuffs will be coming soon!

Spent a few hours cleanin the car up before taking it to Trix for some Tintage.

Heres the finished Product.

The goodies just keep coming!
Think this will be the last one for a while tho.
First i took the horrible badges off my centre caps which left me with this.
Radge029.jpg

Any suggestions on what i can do to make it a bit less plain?

No need to explain what it is really...

I forgot about posting stuff up here :cartman:

So here is some major updating.

Start off with my spur-of-the-moment wheel purchase.

Then comes the Home-made install which isnt 100% done yet.

Thanks, i really love the wheels, they were a total split second decision, i saw them for sale on ScottishVAG.net and thought why the hell not, i hate the standard wheels and these were direct fitment with nearly new tyres.

I will be getting tyres put back on them hopefully tomorrow and have them on the car with 25mm adapters on the rear to bring it out to the arch :D

Well ive calmed down a bit since the weekend.. but im still majorly ticked off.

So i decided the best way to remedy this is with some retail therapy.
Heres the spoils of another 2 days part shopping :p

With the newly refurbished wheels, the faded/scratched centre caps were just a major eyesore, so i searched through ebay for a while and finally found these.
Photo0043.jpg

Also ive been following another thread here and was discussing front bumpers/grilles.. that got me thinking that i like the honeycomb FR grilles... so i took a trip down to Fife Seat and came out with this.
Photo0047.jpg

Finally, Got tyres fitted to the wheels and going to fit wheels tomorrow, heres what that should look like.
Photo0048.jpg

Seeing about a pressed plate tomorrow then that will be my lot till near christmas time, got 2 holidays to save for next year and after a rough totalling on the laptop, ive spent near £1700 on the car since May :-o :wtf:
Time to back off and enjoy what i got so far.

honeycomb grills make a huge improvement.:D

excuse my ignorance but what is a pressed plate?

those new alloys really fit the car but i think they looked better before you refurbished them, sorry.

I prefer the refurbed wheels, the colour really goes well with the paint. I was going to get the standard ones done that colour when I had it, as I hated them in the normal silver and they got dirty far too easy! It's coming on nicely now. :)

Wheels are on!
had a bit of bother with the adapters tho.

Alright so heres the story.
I put my old tyres back on the wheels (205/40/17) because finds are tight atm so i couldnt afford 4 new tyres.

I decided to try the adapters on the back to get the wide stance, however this is what happened...
Photo0051.jpg

Photo0050.jpg

The arch is sitting about 5mm above the tyre, so i decided to see if it would be ok after all.
I got out of the drive and about 25 metres along the street when i heard the arch settling down on the tyres... so i very carefully reversed back and took the adapters back off.

So now im left with this.
Photo0054.jpg

Photo0053.jpg

SO my dilemma is.. do i leave the adapters off and stay low but narrow.. or do i put the adjuster cups back in and raise the back slightly and go wide.. This is mainly for E38, i will be getting stretched tyres as soon as funds allow but probably wont be in the next few weeks.
