how old is your gas fire? :D

:D very old. We've just bought the house, so funds are tight only managed to decorate the living room. Plus it don't help, me buying a cupra and trying to mod it so the fire stays.

would you recommend doing this than fitting a new headunit?

I did have a dension ipod link fitted to my standard stereo but i sold it. I fitted a new HU and bought a ipod interface which is alot better than the dension one. To answer your question though you could do this with either the dension link or an after market HU and interface, you just need to run the connection to the ipod under the centre console. The only problem you'd have with doing this with a dension interface is that it would be difficult to see the ipod display.

Yep music quality is spot on with both dension link and after market interface, i'd recommend upgrading your speakers if they are standard.

It was easy in theory but when it come to actually fitting it was abit of a nightmare. If i had to do it again it would be easy tho, have you fitted stereo's before?

Yea would definately recommend it, after upgrading my front and rear speakers the standard stereo just wasn't upto scratch.

What yellow connector? Do you mean the one that plugs into the rear of the standard stereo, that's for the aircon ain't it?
