Is there something bad about those guys then? or is it a good thing?:)

Nah, I just didn't want to name them. I just know of another PD130 that blew its turbo and was remapped by them. Could be just a coincidence I'm sure. :)

Now I'm concerned, if it's the people I think you mean, as I have a remap being done tomorrow. Mind you, I don't intend to run it at drag strips and I am going slightly conservative to preserve my DSG box. PM me with details of what you heard if you like. Be helpful to hear of the circumstances of the turbos blowing.

I don't mind naming them. Celtic Tuning. I was going to go to them myself and after hearing the power results got on a Fabia vRS I was impressed, but in the end the pull of Jabbasport was too strong. :funk:

I have to say the two common factors in this case "might" be the fact cars like to be driven hard. The fabia I mentioned had done a couple of sessions at Anglesey, done the Nurburgring and was generally "enjoyed".

I believe Celtic know their stuff, and if you're even slightly bothered, ask them for a slightly milder remap with less focus on large amounts of boost. [B)]

I do agree Massive boost is not needed to make good relilable power.

There are many many other ways to make the car perform good and feel great without adding exesive ammounts of pressure.

Some tuners just keep adding the boost and hope it makes power, i think most of them dont give a thaught to the exhaust gas and inlet temps generated, and also dont even begin to think about the cylnder pressures they are making by just adding more boost .

Ps , this statement is NOT directed to any companys but mearly my experience from having my ear to the ground etc etc.

Had it done, very impressed so far. The map is not too agressive, due to the DSG box. Have to say Celtic were great folks to deal with and they have done everything that |I asked them to do. First impressions, and I've only done about 4 miles in it since remapping, are smoothness apart from the extra oomph.
Very pleased.:D

I'm sure you'll be fine. Nowt wrong with Celtic's mapping I'm sure - Its just when you hear of a turbo popping, you can't help but wonder, when it could easily just be down to turbo bad manufacture / driver abuse. :)

Sadly its not enough to drag me away from Jabba. I think I'll be back there inside a couple of months. ;)

What about when you have 2 turbos blowing up then ? ;) are they good maps or not?

Not terribly sure who means what here, but my map probably won't be running as much boost as those guys with 130PDs, as it is pegged back for the limits on the DSG box. Don't suppose for one minute that I have anything like the grunt of those guys, so probably not as much boost. Different engine, so probably mapped differently.
Who did redcupra's then? I have only heard good things of Celtic myself and my experience so far is top notch.

Sorry to hear of your probs matey, but its good to see that all those horses are giving you max fun, and, your motor's fixed as well now.

I will put up my own remap review , when I've had chance to do a few miles.
Enjoying it though, loads of smiles per gallon.:)

Celtic as well? Not sure with hybrids. Maybe they weren't experienced enough to remap that turbo? Jabba spent 8 hours on the rollers with mine to get the map its currently running. And I have a minor oil leak on the turbo as well....

Well, I'm so disappointed with my lpg performance I'm now looking into something in between VT5 and VT7.... not sure how far to push....
Oh, did the lpg not turn out well then chap? if you go for either of the above turbo's you will need injectors. I really do want to get over 260 bhp in mine, but after having a think tonight, i am considering saving up for my next car, and getting rid of the ibiza.

all this talk of mapping has me wondering , how do remappers see in engine parameters terms , what thyre changing as they tweek, for instance , big turbo PDs all run 2.3-2.4 bar boost , but the MAP sensor only sees 3 bar absolute , so how does the guru see boost spikes etc , i know when CC was done to my car ( more about that some other time) there was no other "things" plumbed into the car (say lambda probe up its arse on a petrol) , so how do they know as they type they dont pop something , too many +++++s ,
discuss

lpg isn't really helping I think due to it still being a "fuel" and to burn the extra fuel I think it needs more air pushing in to compensate, hence my thoughts about going for a large volume pushing turbo. As far as injectors go, it would appear that if the lpg works as it should, I shouldn't need to inject more diesel as the stock ones and the lpg will inject enough fuel. Just need more air, and I'm also going to hopefully be one of the first to try a certain company's performance PD camshaft, when they've tested it. That should see me to 260+ which I'll be really happy with. I am going to have to get remapped again though and make sure I get a high hp, lower torque. With 360 lb/ft at 220, its going to be somewhere around 440lb/ft with 260bhp. Would rather keep it at or below 400.

That map ran perfect on my car with no problems at all. You have a different set up then me plus maybe how you treat your engine .
