i've never laughed when arriving at work in the morning, but today was an exception...

windows down, engine on, switched engine off and about 3 secs later, my car farted.

I think it might be coming from the carbon fibre cold air intake, as the stock airbox mutes so much noise and with this CAI i can hear so much more. What a noise this is to shout about!

(I have to say I am concerned about the aspect of gas coming from the intake rather than exhaust!)

If you've got a cone filter either directly on the maf or on a cai, just run engine for a sec, then switch off and listen outside the car, on the passenger side of the bonnett.

I hope it's ok, otherwise it'll need a rennie.

never heard anything of the sort! did you turn engine off mid rev?

e.g. were you idling?

definately idle. The noise wasn't really loud. Probably always happened, just there wasn't any background noise at the time and windows were open. Maybe it's a vacuum hickup? but then I'm not aware of a vacuum hose going anywhere into the intake. Could it be the N75 solenoid resetting? Or maybe the noise is coming from the crank breather filter?

LMAO - thanks ;-)
Seriously - how *farty* did it sound ? Was it a rasp or just a simlpe exhale of air?

What perrsonality! Its clearly a male car.

I hope its not a problem with anything.
