On the 9s are 215/40s. To match that stretch on 8s I'd say probably 195/40s. I'm running 195/45s on my 8s now and they're not far off.

In other news this will almost certainly be up for sale in the next couple of weeks. After nearly 2 years I've decided I'm going to move on and get a BMW E46 330D.

Imola red with the 204bhp engine is the one I'm looking for, but I fancy alacantra interior. My dad had a 330i with full leather and I remember it being gross in the summer.

Its a shame your getting rid!! And those 2 years have gone too quick!!
Love your car mate:(

I know, can't believe it's been 2 years. It's just getting too impractical now, especially when I go away. 50mpg at 80mph whilst still pushing over 200bhp is just too tempting. Especially as insurance is the same as on my Cupra.

Yeah mine was 204 standard i think but with the map sure it was 242 not 100percent as had a few cars since then. The alcantera is nice so eithers allgood, full leather just helps it on re-sale.

I have no idea. I got them already polished, and I just got a buffing kit off ebay. lol.

Little bit of work done on the interior over the weekend.

My spraybooth (which blew over the next day). Keeps the smells and dust from coming into the house compared to if I was to spray in the garage.

Glad it turned up in one piece, wasn't sure I put enough bubble wrap round it. Seriously reduces the wind noise on the bars though. I've stuck my bars back on as the guy coming to look at the car at the weekend is interested in buying them with the car, couldn't believe how much they whistled as I went down the motorway!

Here is the replacement. 2004 BMW 330CD.

330CD by Nick Berger, on Flickr

It's the 204bhp model, semi-automatic with pretty much all the options. It's effortlessly fast and ridiculously comfortable.

Ive gone past the boy racer stage now.. So have been looking at 320s, 323s, and 325's.. The 323 is the cheapest on insurance, and with 170 german ponies, that should be plenty.. Especially on a wet roundabout :)

Ye the back will come out but its a heavy car i had a 323ci (2.5engine) years ago, the back end goes out but its not got the power to bring it back if you know what i mean. I personally wouldnt have anything less than the 328ci. Dont get me wrong i love the coupes had every different engine from the 318 to the 330msport. I really wouldnt bother comenting if i hadnt experienced them.

Thats what I want tbh.. A 6 cylinder BMW engine throwing the 'power' to the back wheels, but not enough so that she kicks out at every opportunity.. Im not hoping for an animal.. Just a car that has potential to look insane, get more fánny and when on the open road, I can boot it a little and have a smile on my face.. It will be quicker than my 1.4 ibiza, thats for sure..

I know what you mean, and I know you are clued up a hell of a lot more than I am.. But you've had some seriously quick cars, and in comparison, the 323 will be tame.. It will be my second car:)

Hahah! Mate, Im 20, and Im in a 3 series BM coupe, lowered a touch on M3 CSL wheels, Msport bumpers, updated all round (Lights Wise), Angel Eyes, and M3 CSL bootlid.. Costly, but would transform the car :)
Garaunteed skirt mate :p
