On the back. Get the 8s polished and move them to the front. I've seen pics of the car running 8s all round, so I have no worries there, and with the stretch on the 9s, they should comfortably fit under my pulled rear arches.

Really impressed with the look of this. Wasn't sure whether to go for a Leon or one of these cool little hatches myself

This month, since picking the wheels up pretty much everything has gone wrong.
Since my first coilpack went, I've had nothing but trouble with cylinders 2+3 constantly giving random missfires.

Fitted my 5000K HIDs, all went perfectly.

When fitting them, I realised my front tyres were both either on/past the legal tread depth limit.

With no money to replace them, and the tyres on the new 6J front wheels I picked up being unevenly worn Nankangs I had to fit my current back wheels at the front and my new rear wheels on the back. Something I didn't want to do until I had got my 8s refurbed.

Today I've noticed a problem with my suspension.

Oh and to top it all off, despite being well over the min mark, my coolant warning keeps flashing when I start the car in the early mornings.

Now a random picture that pretty much sums my last month up.

Wow, I wouldn't go that far, looks a bit of a mess in real life. Getting a bit bored of it now, don't know whether to keep spending on it getting it looking how I want it to, or stop spending and save for something newer.

Got a need to fill nick? TBH, after all you've done, I'd be inclined to 'finish' it before moving your attention elsewhere... What would you have in mind instead? Was looking through this the other day thinking 'how long till I can bear to ask you for a photoshoot of the two cars.' I'm getting close, Had a couple of repairs I've had to do, but you might be hearing from me in the summer.

Not a need as such, but getting a bit bored of the boy racer image it seems to give. The other day I was driving along at 30 but was shouted at by some old woman for speeding. I think it was purely because of the noise that she just assumed I was speeding. I'm also getting bored of the uncomfortable suspension, the constant squeaks and knocks and bangs, the impracticality of it and how temperamental it is.

Main problem though is that its a former write off so worth nothing and would be very hard to sell on.

Well you know I'd have it off your hands any day of the week if I had the money. Not that thats any comfort.... What else would you like to have then?

I don't know, something quick and comfortable that I didn't want to spend money on constantly. I'm supposed to be saving some cash to pay for a skiing trip with some girls I met in Cali last year, but instead I keep spending all my cash on this stupid car. Probably get an E46 coupe of some sort. One of my mates had one, and both my rents each had one when they were new.

After pretty much all my mates getting charged cars.. (Turbo/Super/Both) I actually dont think I could have another N/A car.. I actually think my next car will either be diesel (A3 2.0Tdi) or a mk5 cupra.. Im thinking the latter :p
Do they do a charged E46?

Hmm, you think buying a new car will save you money compared to spending on this one? I know the e46s are lovely cars. I can see your reasons for thinking like that, but what are you spending on that you wouldn't have to pay out on with another car? You had lots of failures?

They're not polished, and I'm on 60/40 H&R Cup Kit.

No real updates other than roof bars and a bike rack, but thought I'd take some pics today and update the thread.

I do love the kick the turbo gives, but I quite fancy the progressive nature of a n/a straight 6.

Failures and the constant need to modify, be it looks it engine. Something like an E46 imo doesn't need anything done to it.

Thanks. Got it from US eBay. Took several weeks to arrive and was quite expensive, but eliminated the whistle without wrapping string round the bars.
