Multifunction Steering Wheel

Hi, I have been looking at buying a new car and the new Ibiza SC is one of my options (along with a Mini Cooper and Alfa MiTo). However one of the main things putting me off the Ibiza is the lack of a multi function steering wheel. It comes as standard on teh Alfa MiTo and is an option on the Mini, but as far as I can see the only option for the Ibiza is the multi function stalk behind the steering wheel which I really dislike. What's worse is that the new FR,SC and Bocanegra all seem to have stuck with this stye whereas it is an option on all other Seat models.

Does anyone know if it will change in the future or will all new Ibiza's be lumbered with this strange stalk behind the steering wheel.

I personally find that the "strange stalk behind the steering wheel" works very well.
Your hands don't have to leave the wheel to operate the radio/cd/phone, also i can work my Cruise Control and fuel computer with ease. I would not be put off buying an Ibiza for the sake of having all my controls on the steering wheel, which would have to operated by thumb or removing your hand from the wheel.
I don,t think that SEAT will change their design in the future.
You need to try each, and make your on mind up i'm afraid.

Best of luck Barrie

I have to agree, the stalk thing is crap and tack, feels really cheap, it also added to the list of things that put meoff, the facelift leon has the buttons on the new steering wheel, shame really

Practicing your sales technique online?, both car dealers say the same derogatory things regarding the Seat, so don't think you've got the licence on that. Half the problem when buying a car is filtering this kind of rhetoric out, and I have grown used to taking what a dealer says with a pinch of salt.

Well I see what your saying but everyone will agree that Alfa's hold no value when it come to trading in for a different car

Oh i agree, but it is a nice car and a cut above both others in the interior stakes. It does have very good projected depreciation rates, similar to the mini infact, but until I see that in the real world 2 or 3 years down the line I also take that with a pinch of salt
