Just yet them to cut the key - tell them not to worry about whether the key will work, tell them you've got the rest sorted, all you need is the blade cutting. A bloke at timpsons once told me they can do the AH blades but rarely do as the majority of people don't realize they need the key coded to the car.

maybe a dealer is a no go then. If so, I'd have to suggest pulling out the phone book and calling a few local locksmiths/key cutting type places.

This thread has inspired me... Pulled out an old flip key today, put it all back together, paired it to the car. Unfortunatly fell at the next hurdle... Couldn't get transponder out of the spare key, and ran out of time. Then will have to crawl round the garage floor trying to find the missing pin that holds the blade in place!

sorry to be a bit of a pain as im sure its been asked many times before, but which freq is needed? Do i need to find out which my previous key was? if so, how!? ive had it appart from battery replacement so i know how do get everything out ect.

Mine doesnt work 100% of the time, and seems to eat batteries when it does, so im thinking of just getting a stylish flip [B)]:happy:

Your remote fob will have it written on the side mine was originally a 433mhz but i bought a 434mhz flip key remote and had no trouble at all programming them to the vehicle to work the central locking.

thats what I done with my 2nd flip key, the locksmiths cut my key no problem but they failed to program the key, they couldn't get into the canbus system so I have mine booked into the dealer to recode the transponder first thing monday morning.

Took mine back to Timpsons in the end ready to explain to them that I "just want the key cut" not coded or anything but when I took it in there they said that they could cut it no trouble but because i suppiled my own blank they could guarentee it and they only asked me to put some money in the charity box as payment!!! The ni went back to the car and found that it wouldnt fit into the ignition but it must have been some excess on the key or a slight deviation in the cut because after working the key in and out of the igniton several times it went in and started no problems!!! Have tried again since and it now works perfectly everytime Very happy owner of a flip key !

that's great, nice one. Can timpsons etc provide the blank key? I have one sat here but it's not an original, not sure it'll work fit the fob properly.
