moisture in headlights

I have this problem with a mk1 cupra that I just bought, but I notice there are quite large gaps between the trim and the headlight casing on each side.

Is this a common problem with the design?

It looks quite off, and obviously I'd be concerned if it indicates the car might have been in a crash.

I'll get some photos up of the area when it's light.

Fixed this problem on mine, get some silicia gel packs from ebay, 50 gram bags, put 3 in each headlight, packs are fairly big, mine havnt once misted up since this! only thing i have found that works, dry the headlight out first with a hair dryer then put the packs in. works great.
