Im looking to customise my rear eyes a little...they seem a little plain and there arent much aftermarket choice, without looking chavvy!...

i dont know if once i get the unit themselves out if ill be able to disassemble them to get to the specific part that i want to customise....

Comments well apreciated!

if you take the clusters out you'll find that they are sealed units, the only things that you can remove are the bulbs from the rear, attempting to dismantle them will only break them i'm afraid!
You could always keep a look out for a set from an FR or Cupra as they look good

Just as i expected, but how have those people with the darker red lense (surrounding the cirlcle's) done that?? i know they have sprayed it with black tinting spray, but how did they get to it??

Dont quote me on it but i think the facelift rear clusters are darker red than the pre facelift ones, i could be wrong though. I'm sure someone will know better than me!

how did you do it aimez?? and i PM j.a.kelly, they are really kool but they are unpractical as the clear plastic has to come off in order to get to the red bit, which means destroying it. Iv'e guys that have got into the unit and sprayed the red bit to make it darker...

yea glennolls the facelift ones are a darker shade of red.

Think the only place to get cupra or fr ones is from the stealers. Bout £180 iirc
Ya mite get lucky if a set come up on ebay but i doubt they will very often.

Only other option is a breakers yard

My mates sprayed his focus rear lights with halfords black gloss spray paint then T-cut them back so you can see the lights shining through. I tried this but because the lights are all small circles unlike the focus the lights aren't as bright as I'd like. I masked off circles where the bulbs are on the outside sprayed over them then took off the cirles I stuck on and sprayed a thing layer but I am not happy with them. I used to have a fiesta and you could take the healights apart by heating up the sealent that holds the lights together to get inside them. I don't think this can be done though. I will prob just buy cupra ones as they are darker and then have a go at opening my FR light up. I don't want to try now in case they break and I have no lights!
