MK4 Ibiza replacement 2008

hmm. I like it and I don't like it. I agree about the back end.. way to Ford Ka- and that design is donkeys old now but remember how different it looked back in 1995 or whenever it came out!!!

Like the side aspect - it looks like it's going to pounce - but yes it looks way to small. Kinda like it but if I were the designer I'd keep some of the model individuallity of the current Ibiza, it does just look to leon/altea ish..

I don't like this increasing height and size thing either. Why is it that every new model has to be bigger and higher than the one before.? Can't people who want a small car actually get a small car anymore?? And accept that they might not be able to fit 5 adults in it comfortably??

Surprise , surprise "it's more spacious and economical than previous model" the reviews say but - hey it's an extra 10cm in length and width and weighs an extra 100kilos, and guess what they've made the standard engines less powerful!! :cartman:

soon the "super minis" that we all drive round in will be the size of tanks and then someone will come up with the brilliant idea of releasing a small car!!;)

It's already happening. Citroen had the C3 supemini. Then they released the smaller C2 and, not happy with that, followed up with the C1. A bit like Russian dolls really. Eventually they'll end up selling the 'Can't C It'.:D

Go on then, how long did it take to think that one up :p

Right tho, whilst most other brands are bringing out the likes of C2/C1... VW get rid of their iccle monster's that used to run the roads (lupo/arosa)

Getting back to the original picture on this thread. I would like to see a more extreme version of this, turned into a proper little sports coupe. It could even be a two seater with a decent amount of luggage space in the back. This would be a separate model from the bigger, more practical 'cooking' versions.

I suppose it would be a very limited market but I would be interested. A good excuse not to be used as a taxi service.;)

Handsome looking. I think the picture makes its backside look more rounded and Ka-like than the designer had in mind. Making it look like the new Leon seems mildly reminiscent of the recent changes to the VW Polo to make it look like other models higher up the range.

In fact, it'd be nice if they brought back the Arosa based on this design using the Fox's guts (only with the 70PS 1.2 engine, not the 55PS version in the VW).

the VWs are all being based on the golf, which is an ok looking car to begine with, the new altea and leon arent very good starting grounds, the leons better but its not nice. look how vauxhall f'ed up with that awful C'MON astra based corsa, vomit

I hope it is the new one because I really don't like it, and having just bought mine I wouldn't want to be tempted by something new and rather sexy looking

i dunno wether to love it or hate it, at a glance it doesnt look that bad, but if you have a good look at it you begin to see bits of the new corsa showing, the new leon and the back end of a kak, hopefully they will tidy it up and will look alot better but i reckon its not far off what the new one will look like when its released.
