if you mean the egr is different then im not sure on that bit but i know removing and refitting a part wont bring any fault codes up if there wasnt any in the first place,if you was to remove a part with an electrical connector then turn the ignition on your get a fault code in relation to that part and possible a dash light.

no aimz not got a light come on aslong as you fit both the vacuum pipes should be fine my car is a 04 plate which is one of the last sports done i belive so its gettin old now

All i did was use brake cleaner then used a screwdriver to scrap it then we have a parts wash at work used that aswell.i really want to take my manifold of to do aswell really but will be next year now.

the only bolts holdin the EGR on are 3 5mm allen key bolts which bolt it to the manifold then there is 2 6mm allen key bolts holdin a metal pipe on from exhaust then to vacuum hoses then its of.i removed the cam belt top cover aswell,i found it a bit fiddly as got big hands lol

with removin the EGR i dont think it would bring a light on the dash even if you put ignition on as there are no plugs. If you was to start it up and rev it then i would say a light would come on as the egr works from vacuum.

Well Andrew JB had a mk4 and he says to do EGR removal you need to map out the light warning that comes on, maybe it is different if you do this and buy the kit for delete removal. This is on that thread about it too so just getting all the info I can. I won't do it until next year prob now thou just run out of stuff to do!lol
