Not that it's the be all and end all by any means but is there anywhere with the new ST 0-62 time?

As a customer it is baffling what they're doing. I get the WLTP changes...the rest just seem to be muddying some already murky waters!

Add the fact that there seems a distinct lack of info it's all a little farcical!

I also fail to see how making it slower to accelerate to 62mph than previous Mk3 Cupra 280, 290, 300 and adding a marmite colour to the badges can be described as "enhancements". Going from 6.0 to 5.7 would be an enhancement, not the other way, they've now made the dsg slower to 62 than the manual ha ha

Too much torque and cant get the power down increases the 0-62

Hopefully the ST shouldnt be affected. The ST is staying 300ps and the additions of the extra gear is more a cruising gear, so only minor changes throughout the lower end of the box as I understand it.

According to the updated price list....
Black callipers with Cupra Logo... (as expected)
Cupra logo on door sills, steering wheel (more than the single one mentioned.. hoping that's correct )
Winter pack...

Nothing about copper, but the photos of the 5dr on the configurator still have everything in silver, so no help there..

This is incorrect. It will only say cupra in door sills no flag or cupra logo. Steering wheel will have a copper S but no cupra logo or flag.

It says ‘cupra logo’, not ‘cupra’ on the door sills. So it is correct, the cupra logo IS the flag. Well until they change to that awful new logo.

There will not be a cupra logo on the door sill

It’ll simply say Cupra!

I’ve not been wrong yet and I’m not wrong now!

No Flags! Except 1 on front in black

Sorry misread what you put.

Will be interesting to see though. Not saying your wrong, but seems odd they’re creating new parts for a car that is at the end of its life.

The copper S badges have been made before, for the R, as have the black flags.
However the door strips in the past have been either CUPRA and the flag, or just the flag. Not aware of them ever making ones that just say CUPRA.

Looking forward to my illuminated flags on my new car.

I think @Damo7 potential means like in the attached pictures

He's often describes the design as being similar to that on the Ateca. Which has:
copper center caps
copper badges front, rear and steering wheel (although not an S)
Cupra written on the rear in black
Illuminated CUPRA doorsills.

The only other thing is it has copper stitching on the steering wheel, seats and gear stick. Now this could be the copper details listed in the bulletin but we honestly don't know. Damo7 didn't say much about that either.

As little as my dealer knows about what's happening they are saying it's all linked to the new brand this December.

SEAT themselves don't even seem to be sure.

All parts currently exist from the new Ateca and the R's

That’s exactly like what I think it will be. I don’t know anything about stitching or it’s colour.

The silver trim we have now will mostly be black. Around the gear knob, door handles light switches etc. Not a flag in sight. I’m 100% sure of that!

I find it bizarre that the best bit about the largely discreet Cupra is being removed. I've never heard anyone say they don't like the flag logo. To me that's what subtly marks it out, a flag with red on the front grill and tailgate looks understated cool. Then backed up inside with them on the sills, gearstick, Steering wheel and on the speedo, even digitally on the electronic dash models. It just looks right.

SEAT just don't appear to understand what their customers want from the hot hatch in the range. I want performance, nice sounds, understated but purposeful looks, classy badges which I think the Cupra 300 has, although it should have the side skirts as standard if I'm being picky.

What it doesn't need is copper coloured badges, less power, slower 0-62, quieter exhaust and in the future tribal badges from the 90s IMO. Clearly it's too late now to make changes, they've gone with it and I hope others like what they've done and sales are good.

Id love to say this is unfamiliar territory for me however it’s bringing it all back to me,when I ordered my first seat circa 2010.

Move on 8 years, numerous cars (Astra:repuke: 1 series, MK5 and MK6 golf, Fiesta ST, MK 7 Golf ) to find that it isn’t the DPF drama causing issue but the WLTP nonsense.

Just my luck that it’s a BW38 cupra hatch that I have on order, which I have no idea of it’s whereabouts or build spec at this time but the long wait is reminesent of the ridiculous wait I had for the Ibiza. That car also arrived unlike what I had specced and spent another two weeks at the dealer awaiting a spoiler, alloys and tints.

Out of all the cars I’ve had in the past 8 years I’ve never had any issues like that I have experienced with SEAT, here’s hoping it puts a smile on my face or il end up back in a fast Ford or VW.

I have decided to cancel my 4drive order. It was urban silver and I don’t want a car that looks like I have played around with it and stuck funny coloured badges on it.
Even though it was a good deal it’s still many thousands of pounds I am spending so wish to have what I want. It would piss me off daily looking at some **** copper coloured badges I never ordered.
In my opinion copper is a dreadful colour in general.

The copper S badges have been made before, for the R, as have the black flags.
However the door strips in the past have been either CUPRA and the flag, or just the flag.

Many of the trim parts that have been updated will be universal, and therefore can be used on the new Cupra branded cars - ie illuminated front door sils.

Just annoyed that I’m being used as a branding guinnea pig with very little information - the derisory £250 compensation being offered by Seat UK for late orders will barely cover the cost of replacing the exterior copper badges/trim; but if copper is on the steering wheel air bag cover, gear stick gaitor stitching and seat stitching the interior is almost a non-starter for replacement.

Whilst the copper is probably bearable on black/grey/silver shades, it will look terrible on the blue/red cars in my opinion (I have a blue car on order, albeit I’m trying to swap colours) - the marmite coloured badges and trim have definitely annoyed me, and after 7 months of waiting with no build date I’m seriously considering cancelling. I will hold off as long as possible to actually see a car with them fitted before deciding, but can’t help thinking that everytime I step inside my mate’s Altea Freetrack, I think ‘who would have bought a car with copper/bronze/marmite coloured trim on the dash?’

It is a shame that Seat don't seem to speak to their customers..

If Damo7 is right, then they will have pissed off the vast majority of customers who've bought a Mk 3 Leon Cupra (post wk 42 build)...

If we wanted copper badges and highlights, we'd have tried to buy a Cupra R, although the R ST wasn't produced, so people wanting the ST didn't have that option. The Cupra is a very understated performance model, and this is a large part of why most of us probably chose it, but the little flashes here and there (silver/red flags, red callipers) are the few parts that do make it stand out from the standard Leon, and they are taking them away.

If I wanted a car without the flags, I'm quite capable of removing them, but I think most want them, and even in black, they're still the mark of a Cupra. Seat Cupra's are not like an M-Sport BMW, an AMG Merc or Honda Type-R, where removing the badges would not hide what it is, due to the flares arches and obvious spoilers all over, they are the subtle reminder this list car is a wolf in sheep's clothing.

When they change over to the Cupra brand with the Mk4 Leon, I totally understand removing the flags,as it will have the Tribal logo, which IS Cupra, so the flags aren't part of it, but we have bought SEAT Cupras, which have had the flag since 1996 (22 YEARS!!), and they decide to remove the flag for the last few months?? WTF??? Change the colour to black if you want Seat, but it only had 5!! Grill, boot, steering wheel, gear stick and door sills.. It's even worse with the half-way house... which idiot said "Let's remove the flag's... .... oh, apart from that one.... lets leave just one, for a laugh, and change the colour... that'll really piss the customer off!!"

What's even worse is the total lack of info.. From what I can see here, the only people who actually know about the changes are all on here, as we seem to have been telling customer servie about the changes before they knew.... What about all the customers not on here, who have not been told by CS or dealers, due to the TOTAL lack of information being given out about anything including the minor (Yeah, right) delays in build... Imagine their faces when they turn up at the dealership and the copper jumps out at them.. thats the first quite a few will know about it...

I'm not really happy myself copper is a colour I would never want on a car. Not sure what to do either.
