Literally just got a call from CS apologising for the continued delay with my ST. still no build date. I asked if there is any logic to the allocation of build dates and was told that it was decided by the factory and they they had no input.

She said that it was probably allocated according to the most basic specs first and then by additional extras. I pointed out that mine is standard spec in mystery blue and she went quiet.. lol.

Still no idea when mine will be built.

I’ve been watching this thread for a while – the whole thing sounds super unorganised and this isn’t a great advert for Seat.

I’ve had a few Seats in my time including new Toledo V5 in 2000 and New Exeo in 2011, Ibiza FR in 2013 but I don’t remember having this kid of wait time.

The last 3 cars I have had were company cars through Lex, 1 Alfa Giulietta and 2 BMW’s. As soon as I had confirmation from the Dealer with an estimated ETA (normally a week after the order), it’s always been +/- 1 week and never more than a 10 week wait (the inconsistency is normally the dealer than the build and ship dates) Even the Alfa was on time! The Alfa!

I find it difficult to see how Seat fail in this area in this day and age of modern manufacturing techniques and 'just in time' schedules. It would seem that SEAT customer care has a big part to play in it. It’s probably better to get a call every month just saying ‘no news, sorry but we are still checking” rather than silence.

I don’t think I could be as patient as most of you guys waiting. Not only does it seem to be well over 6 months since the order, but the car you ordered isn’t even the one you’ll end up with.

Good on you for sticking it out, and after 1 month in with my 1 year old Cupra 300, I get why you’d want to wait, maybe, but I don’t think I would have the patience.

Good luck all!

If anyone waiting on their car has their VIN then I might be able to look up the spec if anyone wants to try.

I don’t think Seat are normally this bad.. it’s just VWAG screwed up on WLTP preparation... not really a surprise, but still annoying..

My Leon FR, which has just gone back after 3 years was about a fortnight late, but only a 10 week wait from order.. and I think that was actually the dealer rather than Seat UK who delayed it

I really should stop writing on this thread...so...turns out my car IS on Aquarius Ace and arrives in Grimsby on Saturday 13th October.
I've no idea how the Seat CS agent who called to say it's still sipping San Miguels in Barcelona port, doesn't have access to the same info as the Seat Dealer support network who have now confirmed the above.

This is good news! I'm still waiting to hear from my guy, I was hoping mine had made it onto the Aquarius but I doubt it as I was BW39!

My guess is that Mine is on there too hopefully, with the dealer saying its on a ship and on the way over to the UK... its nuts how inconsistent the dealers and customer service are with their answers!

IS there a reason the BW38-42 Cupras are getting the Winter pack? or is it a sorry we are so unorganised add on?

Its pretty nuts, its like getting a £30k kinder egg and not knowing what we'll get....

What about the post week 42? Surely we should be getting winter pack, leather pack, pano roof, kessy, beats audio AND a pure gold Rolex as compensation for the unwanted copper..

And are we getting the winter pack too?

I wonder if the Audi A1 and Audi Q3 from the same factory ish face the same 'unclear' wait times? Or are they secretly prioritising the Audi's over the Seats for wait times?

Hopefully there's a couple of press cars on the boats of the MY19 copper models so that reviews get done so we can see the cars. Either that or fingers crossed one of the new owners does a walk round video for YouTube. I'll not get mine till the end of November with all the copper crud on it.

The change to copper isn’t until week 42 is it.. ? That’s next week.

That's right but press cars usually are available before hand to get reviews out. Although with the lack of organisation it wouldn't surprise me if the cars are on the road before the car press even know of the latest changes.
