Hi all

Looking for pics of the above wheels on a mk3 Leon.
Failing that, your opinions on how they might look.
Cheers.

Just saw your pictures on another thread. Looks great.
Yours are 18s though aren't they?
My car will come on standard 17s so hoping to use existing tyres.

17 will not look as good as 18" that are on your photoshop or one of the above pictures... bear that in mind....

I'm aware of that. Needs must I'm afraid. Dont want to fork out for new tyres or the additional cost of the larger alloys.
Plus the machine polished look (even on 17s) will be a big improvement on the standard FR 17 alloys.

Just be aware that the diamond cut (machine polished) finish on the 17" Madrid alloys won't be as durable as the powder coated finish on the standard FR 17" alloys. Any damage to the lacquer coat on diamond cut alloys often leads to the onset of whiteworm corrosion.

Thanks mate. Yeah had the Cadiz in my Golf R. So aware of how durable they are.

Exactly, I'm getting rid of mine titanium pack alloys because of this. I had a small scratch on one of the wheels and the worm is slowly destroying whole wheel. Looking awful...

Can anyone recommend reasonably priced refurbishment companies for these alloys in SE London/Kent areas.
Chances are i will pick these up second hand with some kerbing.
I've asked Diamond Styling and S&P and they are both about £75 per wheel....... Ouch!

That sounds quite reasonable, and probably at the lower end of what you'd pay for a good diamond cut refurb. You could try Lepsons, who are based in Gillingham, Kent;

www.lepsons.com

They're not the cheapest and they're more expensive than you've been quoted, but always get really good reviews on other forums, and I'm a firm believer of 'you get what you pay for'.

I've done the opposite to what you're planning; I've removed my diamond cut alloys and have replaced them with a set of powder coated ones as I'm not a big fan of diamond cut wheels. But it's good we don't all like the same things :)

Hi all. Specs on above Madrid alloys are as follows :
7Jx17 ET 49, 5x112

Standard 17s on a seat are
7.5Jx17 ET51

Can someone please just confirm once again that these will be a direct fit?
And can I use existing tyres which will be 225/45/17?

Many thanks.

Assuming the bolt pattern (PCD) is 5x112 on your Leon wheels, and the centre bore is 57.1 for both your current wheels and the VW Madrid wheels, then they should fit. Your existing tyres should be OK too; according to the VW brochure at the link below (page 16), tyres used for the Madrid wheels are 225/45 R17; i.e. same as your existing tyres. You just need to check that your existing wheel bolts are suitable for use with the Madrid wheels, as wheel bolts come in three different types - tapered, rounded or flat - and it's really important that the mating surface of the bolt head is the correct profile to fit the profile of the bolt hole in the wheel.

With the Madrid wheels being 7" wide and an offset of ET49 compared to your current wheels (7.5" wide and an offset of ET51), this will give you 8mm more inner clearance, and the face of the wheel will be tucked under the wheel arch 4mm more than with your current wheels. You can check this by using the wheel offset calculator at the 2nd link below;
