Hi Guys,

I would like to if you guys know what the mechanical differences between
the MK2 (2007 on) Leon FR 2.0TFSI (147kw) and Leon Cupra (177kw).
I know all the cosmetically differences because I work with these cars everyday.
If say I would like to buy a Leon FR and upgrade the turbo to the K-04 (from Cupra),
what else would I need to upgrade to have it as strong as the Cupra.

The plan is to go to a much bigger turbo, say GT-28 at some stage.
Would it be worth it to go for a Cupra rather than an FR if I plan to do these upgrades
at some stage?
I believe that the Cupa's engine block have a brace to strengthen the block.
Is there any differences inside the engine as far as forged / strengthened internals are cocerned.

I did notice that the Cupra have shorter gear ratios than FR.

Any help would be appreciated!

Cupra has, over FR (engine only):
Stronger Head / pistons / rods / block,
Bigger injectors / turbo,
remote DV,

You should also consider that the Cupra has bigger brakes, aluminium suspension components, better seats, black interior and is slightly better looking (but the FR is very easily changed to look like a Cupra).

If you think your not going to be happy with the Cupra's suspension/brakes then the best idea would be to buy a 2.0 TFSI Sport (black is the best colour) same as DanGB above.
They start at around £9k on autotrader.co.uk
