if you fold it back on its self so its kinked then cable tie it. that should work.

you just need to block it in some way

Sorry to hear the mbc didn't do the Job, I don't understand why. I can't see a turbo of that size not being able to flow more than 1.2 bar of boost.
How did the quality of drive change when you disconnected N75 valve and replaced with mbc, was it as smooth.

boost is definitely more aggressive and smoother, but still its not hitting the optimum power

going to try what Bill has recommened, to see if its hardware or something else

although if i do clamp the actuator hose and it boosts to 1.4 bar, stating its not a hardware issue....what then?

Jamie mine boosts to well beyond 1.4 BAR easily, I've seen 1.8 BAR when setting up the Apexi, so something is up and yes, be careful.

With the Apexi switched off, it boosts to 1 BAR as it has a 1 BAR actuator spring as standard. What DV do you have?

did you ever log N75 duty cycle? was it max'd at 100%? I cant remember

no Bill, I never logged this. how would I log or review this on VAG com? what block do I look at?

I will try and pop out today with the hose clamped or off and see what happens

if it does boost fine with it off, then I will wait for the EBC to arrive to see if it makes any difference

I have said this already but you dont seem to be really taking me seriously...there is no reason the N75 shouldnt be able to control your boost. I do not think boost control is your problem as I dont think the boost is there in the first place. N75/ebc or mbc only control the amount of boost. If it cannot make the boost in the first place its not there to control. No reason your N75 shouldnt be able to control it so if your still not getting the boost something else is your problem be it the map or hardware. And I still cant believe you havnt check your actuator unless P-torque did this and you havnt said.

PJ, I got your point and have taken it well into account:)

you know as well as I do that these cars can be tricky or complicated, and its a case of ruling out everything bit by bit which is what I am trying to do

either way, the MBC is an instant improvement. yes the boost may not be there, but as Bill has recommended to try removing the actuator pipe to try and determine where the issue currently is

at this point in time, with fitting the uprated spring on the MBC, and it still not boosting correctly I now suspect it is the actuator that needs adjusting as it is wound right up which is limiting the boost

I dont think I will have time today to test but will do hopefully on monday night....

also the map was set at 1.4bar, but under load would not meet the request, as Will pointed out for some reason. He mentioned it either the N75 or the turbo i.e. actuator

as you can see from the pic below, the actuator rod is wound right up. Would you suggest adjusting this?

What Bill originally suggested you did will just show if the turbo can actually produce more than the 1.2bar boost you are currently getting. Find out what your actuator pressure is. Did P-torque not check this before mapping? Currentlt I dont think your car can make over 1.2bar which has been shown with the mbc. Be warned though there is no guarantee any mbc or ebc will give you more boost than the map requests so if its not getting it originally theres no saying you will get it with an mbc or ebc fitted.

i cant remember now if you disconnected the N75 and logged boost?
whats your static boost from actuator only?

no I dont believe P-Torque checked this for mapping, and you are right, I dont think it can make it over 1.2bar, regardless of the EBC or MBC....which as mentioned before, I think it is down to the actuator possibly

You dont have vag com, do you?

I will do in a weeks time. purchasing it on Friday as its essential for this sort of stuff

no sorry, can't log the boost yet Bill, I will do when VAG com arrives shortly

how do I log this on VAG com as I am a complete newbie to logging

thanks for all the help so far guys

logging boost is block 115, timing pull 020, airflow 003, fueling 032/031

thanks Bill, I will try and get the logs done asap

in the mean time I am trying the actuator pipe tomorrow night to see if it will go past 1.2bar

I have a feeling it wont, and its the actuator that is the problem here
