Hey guys and gals!

I'm having trouble linking up to my ECU. I'm under the impression it is OBD2 but the problem is I have two seperate scanning tools and both will not connect.

CAN OBDII Memoscan U480 - Linking Error
Garmin ecoRoute HD - Won't connect

Both work on my dads Peugeot 207, his OBD port is green and mine is purple, does that make a difference or not?

Thanks in advance! :)

Thanks Azza_, that's nice to know it's OBDII, currently dropped the car off at the garage to have the rattling of the engine and power loss checked properly, I tested the injection lines to the engine and all 4 sprayed fuel mist so that side looks OK, but the garage will be able to check further down towards the actual injectors as I'm not confident enough yet to take that part off! :D

I'll have to find the code for the radio as I took it out of the bay the other day to see if a code was written down on it and I couldn't find one. So I'll have to check further see if it is in with my Seat Documents folder :)

Looking like I will end up going back down south in my brothers Saab but will get back to you lot on what the garage says concerning the engine trouble!

Also, disconnect your radio if you have an aftermarket radio.

It is definitely an aftermarket radio, not the Seat original. Would that actually make a difference to connecting to an OBD diagnostic tool with an aftermarket radio? As in interfere with it talking to the car and making a connection?

Once I find out the code to the radio, I'll take the radio out to test your suggestion first, if it still doesn't connect I'll do what Azza_ has said about disconnecting the battery for 15mins for a reset. :)

Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you guys, I've been that busy with my kids and trying to visit all my family up here (Manchester) that I've had little to no time to myself and when I have it's been juggled with being here, with my family members and on the car haha! :D

Hope you've all had a very happy new year too! <3

Turns out that this was the problem for the connection issue.

I took out the radio tonight, and tried to connect Torque Pro with my ELM327 and it connected, I had a few minor data errors which is most likely due to the knock off bluetooth adapter.

Though when I get chance, I'll do a self test and see what errors it throws at me if there are anyway (which I'm going to assume there will be haha!)

Thanks for all the input guys! :)

I've given everyone who's helped me so far even in the slightest reputation mate, I think you've had the most from me so far! =)

I think it's only fair to use it and people should use it especially when someone has helped as people are doing this off their own back, much like yourself! :)
