Has anybody used the above and if so with what results?
I'm sure I read in the handbook that you can't use fuel additives, but Millers is supposed to be ok with Euro VI engines.

If your car is not that old why would you want to use it ? If anything went wrong would Seat use that as an excuse not to honour the warranty. My advice don't bother.

There is a good reason for using it in my case: My engine runs much smoother and quieter on Shell Fuel Save diesel. The only thing I can find different between this and other diesels is the centane rating. (55 as opposed to 51).
There aren't many Shell stations near my normal route to and from work so I usually end up with Esso... And an engine that sounds like a tractor.
I've checked the handbook again and the reference to fuel additives is for petrol engines.

Ive used Millers in my 184 quite a bit, I find it gives quieter combustion noise especially at tip in and the step change in noise at 3500rpm is much reduced. Torque is slightly stronger and top end has more punch.

Overall I am pleased with the results from it. I am also trying out Archoil AR6800 but only just coming to the end of the first tank, so its early days but seems to give the same results at the Millers, maybe even better from a noise point of view.

I think the 184 engine needs higher cetane as it responds well to a slight increase.

Thanks for your reply, based on that I'll give it a go!
I'll update after a couple of tanks.

I used Millers additive in my Golf Mk5 with the old 1.9 TD PDI 8v engine. It certainly made things a little quieter and smoother. The latest VAG 184 lump has a reputation amongst diesels for its relative civility so I'm not sure the Millers is needed.

Be aware that these cetane booster additives have a very distinct lingering odour so it will be very hard to deny/disguise the fact that you have been using it should a warranty claim situation arise.

Yeah be good to hear how you get on. Does your 184 have a distinct increase in noise at 3500rpm full throttle ?? That was my main reason for trying it.

Actually mine is acceptable at 3500 rpm, it's the sub 2000 rpm and small throttle openings where the noise is an issue.

I've read that they have a strong 'pong' but assumed it would go if I ran an untreated tank through. Is this not the case then?

In my experience the smell persists for more than one untreated follow on tankful.

If you use the cetane booster and subsequently have an issue with the engine that you would like to have investigated and fixed under warranty then you would probably want the issue fixing ASAP rather than waiting until you have burnt through one or more tanks of untreated diesel to destroy the evidence. :)

Good point!
I was kind of hoping not to be in that situation though but of course, it could happen.

I use the same Millers in mine & did in previous PS 150 1.9TDI FR & it did it no harm
Normally every other tankfull & give it a good 75ml

Use Supermarket Fuel sometimes so like to add my own additives in...

I used it for years running various diesels. I found d it quietened the engine slightly, increased mpg lessened the smoke (pre dpf). It was also cheaper than premium diesel so win win

I use it with Morrisons fuel. Sometime I put Shell in but not with Millers. Just depends where I am when I need fuel. I haven't noticed any issues using Millers and I have used their products a lot in the Impreza.

As said, supermarket fuel and a shot of additive is less per litre than V Power normally.

Update time:
A noticeable improvement in performance at the top end and quieter running at the bottom end. Very happy with the results so far.
I also emailed Millers who replied promptly and we're happy to put in writing that there product would not invalidate any warranty on the car. Not sure how this would help in the event of a problem, but it does give me some confidence that the situation shouldn't arise!

That's good feedback, matches what I have found in my car, and good news about warranty.

What dose of Millers did you use ? I've only run with double dose ( 100ml per tank ) so far

I also used a product called diesel rhino which has same claims as millers and I experienced same positive effects.

I use a double dose with any fuel but Shell, which gets a single dose. That seems to work for my car...

That's good to hear, I wish I tried this 25,000 miles ago!
