Recently Migliore ran a competition to guess what their upcoming new product was. Fortunately for me I guessed correctly that it would be a graphene coating.https://www.migliorewax.com/product-page/migliore-forte-coating Prize was a free bottle of the product. I was thrilled.
Anyhow, as I do not have a lockup to use it I had to wait until the lockdown was eased to allow me visit my son 300kms away. This happened this past week. It was almost a 2 day session as we took our time to ensure as good a prep as possible.
This week with the help of my son Nick , after the usual prep, wash, decon, detar, clay. We gave the ateca a 2 stage polish using 2, In2Detailing DAS6 pro polishers (900watt) and scholl S20 black on green hexlogic pads. Followed by scholl S30+ on hexlogic black pads to refine as much as possible.
Snow foamed and rinsed/dried,
This was followed by 2 wipe downs with bilthamber cleanser fluid.
Paint was then coated with Migliore Forte Graphene coating. Application was literally the same as ceramic, apply in crosshatch pattern and buff within 5 minutes. Went on and buffed very easily. 2 hours before cured.
Finished around 4pm on Friday and left it in the garage until 10.30 AM Saturday.
We are no professionals, but I am very happy with the end result. The flake really pops now.
Set off on the homeward bound trip of 300km's again, yesterday evening it rained, I was a little disappointed with the beading if I am honest. But something tells me I did read an article saying this is a feature of Graphene coatings.
Anyhow, Beading is for looking at, protection is what it is all about. This is rated at up to 5 year protection.
Lets see how it holds up for the next 13 months as I will be replacing the car then, ( all going well )
Now for some pics,
*Edit* gave the disaster pillars a quick freshen up while we were at it.
