Has anyone had any good / bad experience with Michelin CrossClimate tyres? They look like an ideal mix of summer tyres with a bit more winter performance than a fully focused summer tyre.

I decided to buy a set of 17" SEAT alloys for winter use and fitted the Cross Climates as they appear to be very versatile from reviews I've seen.

So far I'm very impressed with them, they grip a lot better than the Standard Bridgestone S001's in these cooler conditions and they're noticeably quieter too. I can't comment on what they're like in the snow.

I've experienced no balance issues myself, at any speed, either through the steering wheel or through the car itself.

I have had them on the front of my golf for 15000 miles. Very impressed with them, good wet grip, no balance issues, good wear rate, not used in snow yet.

Bad as a summer tyre, bad as a winter tyre.

Is that based on experience with them or an opinion of the concept?

On another note I see that the Goodyear Vector 4Season Gen2 is available in 18" size, anyone tried these out? I'm just about to replace all four and would sacrifice a smidge of summer grip for a little more winter performance.

One of my colleague has them on his A4 b8 2.0TDi Q

I have them on a BMW replacing Run Flats. Used for 9 months from Black Circle who are owned by Michelin

Like a new car. Quiet, improved MPG handling as before but had to increase tyre pressure from OEM because run flats are so rigid.

Waiting for Bridgestones to expire and replace on SEAT with Cross Climate.

Autoexpress ran a tyre survey http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/access...es-test-20162017-top-all-weather-tyres-tested and they came 3rd with the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-2 tyre first.

Meppershall Beds.
put them on my wife's Saab 9-5 Aero and been very impressed - consumption good, rise excellent - but I do notice a squishing sound in the wet, which I presume is the water being squirted out.
No experience of actual snow, but they do hold up well in the cold. I'd buy them again....

Well it’s that time of the year again here in the south east of England, so just wondering how those of you with CrossClimate are getting along with them?

As I’d prefer to not have shell out a grand on new rims plus winter tyres but guess that would be cheaper than going for a spin on some black ice if we’re actually going to get a white Christmas for a change!

Yes however many people here rate the S001s as very very bad...or can't wait to get rid of them...

Crossed climate+ just rated best tyre by auto express.

BMW gone to son and even he is happy with them after an Astra with no suspension and 20 inch wheels with no Flex.

I did put more air in them though as I found them a little soft when set on the bmw which was set up for run flats.
