I'm in concurance with you guys. I've recently put some monza 2 gti alloys on my leon, :D and got all kinds of idiots leaving unconstuctive comments about me wanting a golf. If i wanted a golf i would of bought one. If another manufacturer designs some wheels or any other appendage for a car and you like it, put it on. If someone is gonna be a true purist then don't mod your cars at all and leave them as factory standard!!! :funk:

Sorry to hijack and rant! Free therapy!!!

These might be just a shade wide at 8.5 inches with 235 tyres and an ET of 35. As I mentioned earlier, mine are ET35, 8 inches wide and have 225 tyres and they are just about legal as far as being inside the arch is concerned. The problem is not really the width of the wheel but the ET measurement. The standard wheels on my Leon were 7 inches wide and ET54. When you fit an ET35 wheel it will immediately sit 19mm further out and you then need to add the extra width of the rim and the tyre into the equasion. If you don't mind running a bit of poke they will go straight on without any spacers, adapters or longer bolts. Good luck whatever you decide.

For what it is worth, the ET on my wheels (and Dans) is ET45 on 18" wheels. With 235 tyres, this gives scuffage when on a fast corner or with the suspension down low. There is also a little scuffage even with 225 tyres.

Anything wider or with a bigger offset combined with lower profile tyres is definitely going to give compromises with rubbing, ride quality and handling.
