hi all
I have a bit of a problem with the memory seats, cant seem to get them to work?
followed the owners manual and pressed and held either 1, 2, or 3 for 3 seconds or more, waited for auidible beep but nothing happens? i also read that sometimes you have to raise seat to maximum, move forward to maximum, and then move back rest forward to maximum in order to reset memory? ive tried all of the above and dont seem to be having any joy, i was just wondering if any of you guys have had the same problem, and how you fixed it?
if im just being a dummy please excuse me, as ive only just joined and own my first seat. its a 1999 tolledo v5 (and loving it)
any help would be greatly appreciated.
cheers

Hi Nick,
Strange that they've stopped working - they definately worked at some point as I found the reset trick on these forums that you mention in your post - this was probably a good 2 years ago now though, as my driving position is basically right back and right down so I always adjusted manually.

Hopefully someone will come up with a suggestion.

Cheers,
Tim.

Check the square red button. IIRC it isn't obvious if it should be in or out. I think it is called 'memory off' which makes you think it should be out, but in fact it should be in, or vice versa. Try pressing the memory buttons with the red buton both ways and see if that works, I had problems at first until I realised. Brilliant invention when it's working!

hi tim, thanks for your input, ive tried the memory button both ways and then tried all three memory buttons and still nothing :(

ive also tried the reset trick, by moving seat to max up/forward thingy, and just this morning ive tried dis-connecting the battery, re-connecting after a few minutes and then trying all of the above again with no luck.
does anybody know if there is a memory control module anywhere or weither or not there is anything else i could try. if not i guess its a trip to the rip-off merchants  woohps i mean the main dealer.

any extra advice would be very appriciated.
thanks again

Hi Nick,

Just to check you are following the same procedure as me..

Engine running, set seat to desired position, adjust electric mirrors, check red button is "In", depress required memory button for a minimum 3 seconds until beep is heard, switch off engine, remove key immediately and depress the "open" button on remote control until another beep is heard (you must press this within 10 seconds of switching off IIRC). Repeat for additional users with their own remote keys for other seat memory buttons.

This is the procedure I follow and means that when my wife or myself go to the car with our own keys, when we open the drivers door the seat automatically goes to the required position.

If that doesn't do it, there must be an electrical fault.......and I'm afraid I'm stumped!

Good luck,
Tim
