Maybe Loosing Boost

Hi mate,

Well if you have a forge TIP, one part (the longest part) of the N75 goes into the side of that, the other part comes from the boost pipe to the bottom part of the N75, and the other one goes from a vacuum pipe leading down to the turbo/actuator area (into the left of the N75).

nice one mate will get this done tommorow

Well, after taking bits apart and re-fitting to make sure I have nice tight seals, I eventually found the problem! The vacuum pipe that goes to the nipple (he he) of the DV has been rubbing on a metal pipe at the back (think it's for AC). This has generated a small hole.

Luckily, I had some spare 4mm hosing and put that on, however, only goin to around 16 or 17psi, and wont touch 20-21 unless under load (low revs, slight hill). Usually it'd be boosting to 25-26psi!

Think I may cut off the bad part of the old hose, and put that back on (after checking for possible leaks on new one

Think it's about sorted now. Took advice from Ian, and tried old pipe again, with crap bit cut off.

Every gear boosts to 20 almost straight away, even 21.

Will see how things go on way to work as it's an uphill road on the way where i can boost to 25psi (if i boot it)..

May also change all vacuum hoses when I service it, maybe shrink from 4mm to 3mm

stop fukking around matt and get some new 4mm vac piping for about 4 quid. then you know its good ;)

that's what i replaced the old one with, some new 4mm.

As said above, will probably replace ALL hosing. Ian says 3mm is ok. He confirmed my question about it being more condensed may mean more boost. Maybe that will solve the issue.

Good to hear mate...

If you have a Forge TIP it's worth cutting down the part where the DV sits in, as it will sit too high and rub against that pipe if you run it in its stock position and not reversed.

there's a bit of fabric or something around the pipe. A bit has worn away where its been rubbing. Will just wrap something around there again
