Maybe I look like a pikey?...(flip keys again)

So I have now tried all three Timpsons places in Oxford, who say they can't (or most likely won't) cut the blade for me....

so, either I look like some pikey car thief, or they are all a**eholes. [:@] :censored:

Anyway, can anyone recommend other places to cut the blade (other than the "go to a dealer" line timpsons use)

Ta :)

F*ck Timpsons, go to a proper key cutting place, lock smiths etc... Have a look in the yellow pages for one local.

I found a bloke on eBay. You send him your key code, he cuts you a new blade and sends it to you.

I thought of that but then i thought that i didnt really want to give my key code and the address where the car is parked to a complete stranger!

I wan't too bothered by that - I don't keep anything of value in the car, and all it would enable him to do is open the door.

Also I seem to remember the guy was way up north, whereas I'm down south, and he also had masses of positive feedback... I'm sure if he was a crook, someone would have said something.

I figured the risk was pretty tiny!

Your probably right. There is no way he could know a dodgy character in your area and supply the key for a small fee. But as most immobilisers are totally unbeatable :)whistle: ), you only have to worry about your dash or seats getting nicked or destroyed:p

Pfft

Well like I said, he had masses of glowing feedback (http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=auto-locksmith), and I have a feeling that if people who ordered keys from him were having their cars mysteriously broken into afterwards then the boys in blue would have cottoned onto him pretty quickly.

Either way, it's done now, and 3 months down the line and absolutely no problems whatsoever. Also if you're worried just get it sent to a mate's house instead!
