hi there. i have a 2000 model seat leon se110 tdi. ii started to wobble quite a while back. it felt like a wheel out of balance to start with. wheels were balanced and my wobble was still there. all the wheels have been changed as have the tyres to no avail. it has recently had the anti roll bar bushes done as well as both wheel bearings. the wobble can be felt most when accelerating between 40 an 70 mph. also when braking, it wheels like the same sort of feeling you get with a warped disc. when driving hard round right hand corners a sort of grinding feeling can be heard an felt. sort of drrrrrrr noise. this can also be felt when front end is wallowing on a straight piece of road,. some have suggested it may be a buckled drive shaft or a dodgy cv joint.. if anyone else out there has had a similar prob any help would be greatly apreciated...

Hi,

I've just done a search for threads about wobbly wheels and found this one, it sounds pretty much the same as the problem on my Leon, which is also an SE tdi.

I've had my wheels balanced and the wobble is still there. What's the best thing to do now? Don't want to change tyres etc as they have only done a few thousand miles!

Is it best to just take it to the garage or is there a simple fix I could tackle myself?

hi. after months of trying various things such as wheels and tires my mate put the car on the hoist and let it idle in 3rd gear and noticed the whole car wobbled from side to side. as my car also gave a sort of grinding noise as if something was rubbing when going round right hand corners he sugested it could be the inner joint on the passenger side drive shaft. i replaced the drive shaft and it seems to have cured my wobble. i also found for a genuine seat drive shaft was 280 quid where the one i sorced from a local parts place was only 120 quid. hope this is of some help. my car also wobbled badly when pulling from about 50-60 mph in 4th or 5th gear
