Because I was swapping only one, and I like the OEM tyres I decided to keep it matching.

£162 is dear, but sadly 'market' price for a single fitted. In fact, cheaper than some internet places.

The galling bit was that it had a repairable puncture, but because I drove 1/2 a mile on it, rather than change it on the side of a 4 lane dual carriageway it damaged the sidewalls. 8000 mile tyre :(

I'll rotate the wheels soon so I should get about 20k out of a set, which should see me through to part ex I hope!

Something with Independant rear suspension. The fixed beam is just pissing me off now.

Ideally, Mk3 Leon SC, decent seats & ~150bhp either petrol or diesel.

Or a 911 if I put my stupid hat on.

Only that the 'brand' will be shifting to high output, lower capacity engines with decent specification.

The current FR is a good example of this 1.4TSI, 125bhp, nice seats & rides well - but is effectively the run out model so will not hold it's value.

Mk3 SC will be about right for when I'm wanting to change I think.

I'll be honest, I really like the Leon Copa and choose to take it whenever there's the choice.

Crikey, this is interesting news. I was thinking of buying an Ibiza Cupra for my next car. Kind of hankering after another pocket rocket again, but this rear suspension stuff is getting me a little worried. How much does it let the car down?

If it's not much, I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a top spec car.

Not waiting for a Mk3 SC....

So I've been out & test driven what I want - 20week lead time for a factory order so I'll plonk a deposit tomorrow to kick that off.

The just about wedging two bikes into the boot of the Ibiza on Friday was annoying... no problems here

VAT free deal was the clincher... makes it the same list price as an Ibiza Cupra.

Luckily because I drove such a hard deal on the Ibiza last year I haven't lost too much
