Took it 'off road' yesterday

Was good, and didn't get stuck on some wet slippy hill fire roady type stuff, either up, down, turning around.

Also took it sliding on the gravel, so it's pretty filthy. I'll need to change the tyres soon, to something better than the 'Achilles' currently fitted. Once that's done the tom foolery will have to stop

The Altea's been to JKM for a service last week. All's good thanks to Jim & Kate's team

Needs some new boots, and apparently the exhaust is getting rusty in places.

Supersprint do bits for them, but I'm a bit limited.... I might go hacking up an 8P 2.0 TFSI Audi A3's exhaust and put a longer hanger & tailpipe on it

There's no F in Quality..
Just spotted this, following the link in your sig from the MTB thread.....

Been looking for something for Em now that No.2 is due in a few weeks, and this looks like a possible solution. Although 2 buses on the drive is probably a bit OTT...... been on the look out for a standard Altea for her.

FR with the 2.0T? They were fun when released.

I can't wait for snow if we get it this year...

Passed it's MOT today, no advisories either which is reassuring.

Needs a good clean though, as the builders locally are making all the roads very muddy!

How are you enjoying the Altea M0rk?

We have a 1.6Tdi DSG Copa SE and it's a great family car. Looking at a Freetrack 4 TSi for myself. Assuming it's suitably "sporting" with the remap?

I'm considering selling mine shortly Cupra Ross - it's a 2007 57 plate Tsi with a remap to approx 252bhp. In silver with 59,000 FSH miles if it's of any interest
Sorry for the hijack

You were about half an hour too late with your message. I've just bought a 58 plate TFSi with 47000 miles.

Good choice!

We're getting on fine - I've swapped to using the Golf day to day for a bit to even the miles out annually

It needs some sharpening on the handling to make it truly sporty, but it's properly fast in a straight line off the lights / mid range and in the wet.

Congrats on your purchase! What colour did you get?

Thanks m0rk :)

I got the darker grey one. To be fair, there wasn't a great deal of choice. Of 7 cars for sale on auto trader, I think 5 were Diesels (we already have a 1.6 TDi Altea XL), and most had well over 100k miles. One was vomit green and a couple were yellow. I don't mind yellow in a Leon or Ibiza but not on an Altea XL/Freetrack.

Looking at remaps and will probably go to Big Fish Tuning in Middlesbrough. They have a pretty good name around here, they're very experienced on VAGs including custom big turbo mapping, and are about half the price of REVO etc.

Here's a (poor) photo of it:

I've yet to see a Freetrack that wasn't registered with a KMxx plate! I'm fairly sure they were all ex SEAT UK fleet as nobody bought them new

Looks tidy in that colour, the bumpers being grey look less obvious

Thanks m0rk. I'll get her into top shape and shifting along nicely.

The potential is stunning if you have deep enough pockets. Unfortunately, mine aren't that deep.

The 4WD should put that power to much better use than the Leon. A real stealth boost bus!

We had the worlds smallest amount of snow overnight, so got the chance to play in the Altea

ESP off, with 'sporty' Toyo's and a fair bit of revs had some good four wheel drift power slides up hills... Even pulling off the driveway with a degree of too much throttle & steering had a nice back end slide.

Hoping for another snowfall tonight, as it was all gone by lunch

Sadly, it's time to say goodbye to the workhorse

It's up for part-ex as we have a reshuffle and ordered a couple of new cars.

So if anyone wants a 71k Altea Freetrack with FSH, and the next service already paid for - get in touch in the next few weeks.. It'll be bargainous
