Lowering kit and alloys. Help?

How much clearance have you got round the arches. Hoping the extra inch wont make to much trouble as mine are 17x8".

Cool, mine are ET33 I think, so even better. Get the kit next month after pay day then start looking towards other things. Not that I can do much with a 3 cylinder 6v 1.4TDI.

ET33 sits further out, so I wont say they'll fit perfectly :p
You might still be able to stretch the tyrewall though

Stretch the tyre wall? Not too sure what that means.

At the minute the wheels are about 1/4 of an inch from under the arch (front only) and no rubbing on tyre.
Got about an inch and half clearance from the arch, front and back of each wheel
Nearer to 3 inch's above.

As I said my main concern is when lowerd and turning tyres will rub the arch.

Suppose could buy a cheap set for now and see how it goes, then upgrade if everything seems fine.

I'll get it lowered and then see what happens.
Reading around some people have got 7.5J width on 17s and seem fine at lower then 35mm so all being well, quids in :)

Will post up when I'm done for anyone else with similar problems.
