mines at about 38MPG at the mo, sparks and fuel filter haven't been changed at all and tyre pressure is 32 all around. I do quite a few small trips around though
Shells my regular stuff but i get others from time to time. do people go for the higher ocatane here or normal stuff. usually my mpg is a tonne better with the good stuff and works out cheaper overall lol

Is that mpg from the DIS or have you worked it out? If it's from the DIS, are you sure your lowering + low profile tyres combo aren't tricking your car into thinking it's doing better mpg?

I don't get 38 around town.

I get it on a bit of a run though.

Oh and I use Shell fuel most of the time, but not the V-Power.

nah when I got the new setup I made sure that the overall diameter was as close to original as possible. only like 0.5 mph out or sumamt small...
Plus lugging the weight of the person around in the boot is probably dragging it a bit :)

Crikey, I did 50mpg on the last tank (well, 49.9996mpg).

That was keeping to the speed limit on a-roads, some town traffic and mainly motorway.

I recently bought a seat Ibiza 1.2 2007 reference sport. I mainly do city driving (80% of the time) and I get to about 250 miles by the time the light comes on. The car was serviced 3000 miles ago. Anyone have any recommendations to increase my mpg (I don’t speed and I drive economically)

Check your tyre pressures. Other than that, as long as your temp sensor is working correctly (ie gets to 90C and stays there) not much else that can influence it. Worth bearing in mind that it's probably a fairly small tank, and that city driving uses way more fuel than manufacturers claim. Their figures are always bollox.

Edit, also check you don't have loads of weight in the boot. Every extra 1kg means a reduction in MPG

Hi, I appreciate your help.

turns out the issue was a very clogged up fuel filter. Got that changed and now it’s excellent. Currently at 100 miles and haven’t even used a quarter tank yet.

Dirty fuel filter was the issue all along.
