Has anyone had any experiences with the new Lookers dealership in Stockport yet ?
And is it in the same place as the other Lookers dealers (Rover, Renault, etc etc) ?

It would be far more convenient than going over to Autoworld in Chesterfield all the time, but so far I've been happy with Autoworlds service....

Not used them yet, cannot see it being much different from the now closed Lookers Stretford as lots of the staff where retained. we can only live in hope things will improve.

On a more positive note they do have a very good master tech and the facilities are an immense improvement.

I may have spoken to Lookers Stockport on a bad day, but when I phoned up for the price of a 60k service for my Toledo (V5, but it seems they assumed 1.8), I wasn't asked for any details on the car, I was just told that it was £400 odd because it involved a cambelt change.

I queried this as I thought the V5 had a timing chain. The response from the guy in the service department was "V5?...Toledo?......er, you'll have to bring it in as some do and some don't" At this point I got scared and made my excuses.

I made the trip to LC Charles in Crewe for my 10k service the other day after people saying how poor dealers round here are, and knowing what Lookers are like :D

LC Charles seem like they know what they are doing. £77 for 10k service, car even got cleaned and valeted and I got a few free brews and a play with an Ibiza TDI FR after I brought the little 1.2 Ibiza courtesy car back in in piece :D

Was down @ lookers stockport yesterday to order some bits... bumped into muddyboots there too (ordering same bits) :)

The parts guy seemed a bit miffed but said he will get it sorted... noticed he had the SCN calender-wallpaper on the pc he was using too

I've ordered a new Leon FR from Lookers in Stockport and the sales guy (Rob) was very friendly and helpful. :) So far I've had no problems although they don't seem like the most knowledgeable bunch. ;)

Fingers crossed when it turns up it'll be the right colour.

Hope some of the less good staff from manchester branch haven't moved since some where real MUPPETS!!!But they were very helpful in sorting out warranty stuff with Seat, LC Charles seem to really look after your car but can get it a bit wrong sometimes and don't seem to push seat as hard as Lookers used to for replacment parts.

Having experienced the best and worst of both Lookers & Bells, I decided to I'd try David Cooks in Oldham after Lookers moved, and I have to say that their service was excellent, the work carried out came in loads under the very reasonable quote, seemed very clued up, the courtesy car's petrol tank was full & they did some extra bits aswell for free. Mind you, I also rated Lookers after my initial visit.

An update on Lookers Stockport...

Firstly: I was there the other day, and the parts guy told me only one Seat tech moved with them from Manchester, and he left a couple of weeks ago...
Judging by comments above, this might be a good thing ?

Anyway, I was a little annoyed by their service recently.
After my other dealer diagnosed a split CV boot during the 40k service, I went to Lookers to book it in - for the purpose of having the boot replaced.
I had to wait about a month for a slot where they could give me a courtesy car.
So after a month, I took my car over. No courtesy car. OK, so they arranged a taxi for me to / from work - annoying but at least they did sort me out.
However, when I picked the car up:
"Yes, your CV boot is split, we'll have to order the parts in, and book you back in when they arrive".

So what exactly did I wait a month for, did they not think to order the boot in ??? After all that's what it was booked in for !!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Well they rang me to say the part arrived, and it's booked in again in a fortnight's time. I'll keep you posted.

***cough*** that was my mate

Its a good thing for him as hes got a nice pay rise and amove to BMW, not a good thing for the SEAT contingent in the area as he was one of the few techs who knew what he was actually doing!

Picked my Leon Cupra up from there just over 3 weeks ago. The salesman was a nice chap, new his stuff and wasnt ones of these plonkers who get arsey when you haggle with them, so I ended up with a deal I was happy with. Not experienced the servicing side of things there so cant comment, noticed one of the mechanics there had a red seat cordoba? with seatcupra.net stickers.

The only thing they seemed to of messed up is my vehicle registration documents, just spoke to the dvla and they have confirmed that my postcode supplied by the dealers is incorrect, hence why I have not received them. Not a biggy really, just means I have to wait to put my own plate on the car!!!!
