I had two crappy black plastic valve caps nicked off the LCR. Funny thing is that most tyre places will give you them F.O.C if you ask nicely!

Also, it's not always chavs who pinch them. Was parked in Sainsburys the other day waiting for the missus when I saw an old guy get out of his car and systematically check the valve caps on 5 different cars in the car park, before removing the "right ones" for his car.

The old duffer was so engrosed in what he was doing he didn't notice me with the camera phone recording his every move and his car details etc. I politely informed him that if he put them back then we would leave it there. Owned!

The thing that puts me off is that when they have a go at getting them off and cant, they will be tempted to give the car a quick boot or sratch the alloy just to p**s you off, so ive left well alone at the mo. God im starting to sound like my old man, thinking the worst of everyone lol.

Cheers people.... some varied answers there:confused:...

Think I might just go back to the black caps, never can trust the chavs around here and yeah, if they cant get something off more than likely to give it a scratch or a boot....

I'm up for a verion of the alarm system too Swissrebel when it's up and running !!!

Thanks again

go to poundland,(hence the name) get the cheapest ugliest set of dust caps you can and....

THE ORRIBLE PIKEY CHAV B*STARDS STILL NICK EM.

had a company honda supplied with alloy dust caps-always nicked

my lcr (3rd) had aftermarket 'posh' ones on it- they were nicked

i have now had skull heads, dice, weird stuff- and the reason -it is still cheaper than going to halfords for black dust caps, which i think would still be nicked

About 2 or even 3 years ago I bought some of the caps that indicate if your getting a pressure loss, had them about 2 weeks, while the car was in a car some bugger knicked all 4, so now just use the std black plastic jobbies, not as inviting to tea leaves, never (touch wood, I've done it now ) had any of those knicked, at least so far.
