It's really not that important, but my flag of nationality on my profile changes randomly from time to time - one day I'm in the good old US of A, the next I'm in the Netherlands or UK (the UK is correct)

Anyone know why that happens?

I sometimes get this as well, mine was Italy for a little bit but now it's settled down in the UK, I guess it's not a perfect science and must depend on a few things like Internet breakout from your provider and other technobable haha

Edit - my phone seems to show up as Italy it seems lol

@Syphon may know more about it but I'm pretty sure it does it's own thing.

Cheers

Simon

Yes you're Italian!

Not a big deal, glad it's not a problem just linked to myself.

Pasta. VPNs will do it. Company Internet. Good old BT shouldn't send you flying to another destination. It's done on the IP address if your Internet provider has wonky address that it may happen, There is another IP address thingey you don't see much. It might be that. We do see some coming through on that. IPv6. IPv4 seems OK. You can always study yourself with utrace.me and tapping along the bottom if it doesn't place you. If it's not a VPN, company system then it's your telecom provider.

Yes, that's right. VPNs, corporate networks, or even just a strange routing setup from your ISP can make websites think you're in a different location. BT usually doesn't misroute badly, but if the IP address your connection is using is unusual or shared across regions, that can confuse geolocation services.
