I've just had a letter from Listers offering me 2 services for a fixed price of £299. As the first service on my Cupra is due in April and I think the next one will be April 2012 I am interested. I have no idea how much a 1st and 2nd service will cost though so does this sound like a good deal?

(The dealership is within walking distance of my house so I don't normally shop around as it would be hassle.)

I paid £165 for my first service on the boc although i've been informed since that was a tad steep lol. But at that rate yeah it would be a saving to have both for £299.

I had the same letter come today i think your first service is a standard service and the second service is a major service including brake fluid change etc both services for £299 instead of £584 thats what it says on my letter and you are protected of any price increases for parts, labour etc etc within the 2 years

How on earth do they get to £584?

We had this deal on our car with LC Charles but they wouldn't do the brake fluid. Had a right row with them but they wouldn't budge.

Check the schedule on the car - on ours there's not much needs doing until the 4yr/40K miles service. Even then, the work isn't that significant.

Or go to your local VW garage ;)
£100 for first service and £170 for 2nd service on mine, and they gave me a courtesy car next day :)

We have a well regarded Skoda dealer much nearer than the SEAT dealer but they were wobbly about doing it - the service advisior wasn't sure if they'd have the schedules for it - and the price based on the equialent Fabia was the same as the SEAT dealer.

No, but the dealer won't do an ECU update anyway, even if there's one available for your car - unless you're having a specific problem and that fits with the factory advice that comes with the new ECU software.
