Conti wear rate

Err difficult to tell really as I had a wheel alignment problem that meant I got though the original tyres in about 3k miles (on the front). Now that's sorted they don't seem to be wearing to bad at the moment, probably done 4k miles on current set and still plenty of life in them. However I may change manufacturer when I do a whole set, as they don't seem to great in the wet.

Hmm!! seem to be the same as the pirellis i have at the moment. I had contis before on my old car and they wore really well got about 10,000 miles out of the front set which makes me want to go back to them. Might just go for the good year asymetrics next time:shrug:

the goodyears are a softer compound than the contis so they probably won't last as long..

to be honest i dont think your gona beat continentals for wet/dry grip unless you buy some semi-slick tyres... wear rate on the continentals isnt amazing if your a bit enthusiastic with your right foot though!! If your on a budget you might wana try either:

Wanli slidemasters

OR

Nagasaki no-grips

They will set you back about £1.50 a tyre

I have recently purchased Dunlop Sport Maxx tires and so far so good loads of grip.... I used to have the Wanli;s mentioned above as they came on the car, As much grip as a sumo wrestler on a ice rink to be honest.

gota say them wanli slide masters are good for rear steering !!

had wanlis on the fiesta , (becasue i had 17's on mk5 the rear arches would rub hence cheap tyres)
the back end would kick out all over the place - was very dangerous

ive gone for falkens now at £65 a corner not bad price & a good tyre IMO

Goodyears are soft but they are awesome. Especially in the wet.

I don't think the Goodyear Eagle F1 asymmetric is available with a profile greater than 45 but the Falken FK4520 is very higly rated and around here.

I personally would go for the Falkens (if I didn't love blasting along the fantastic roads up here in Scotland at the weekends). Need all the grip I can get.

Hi,

I've got a PD130 and don't suffer from that problem - it's deffinately the tyres!! I've got Toyo T1-R's and they're spot on, recommend them to anyone! Car handles a lot better now.

I really wouldnt be turning my traction control off with them tyres! Get them changed ASAP mate - you'll feel the difference.

ling longs are awful my mates have not had good experiences with them, champiros are just as bad.

Have Falcons on the LCR at the mo and they are great.

Had Kumos on my 172 and they were reasonable in pric and performance.

lmao at linga longa!
