Took the cupra out this afternoon for the first time in weeks after fitting a miltek sports cat and downpipe , and fmic.

At first when I took the car out it went well and hit around 15 psi. But when it did this I could hear a strange squealing/screaming noise ? Then the car would boost only to 10 psi but bounce up and down on the gauge between 5 and 10. Then finally it went into limp mode

I returned home and scanned for fault codes and got the following :

17526 - open circuit on one of the 02 sensors but these have both been replaced
18010 - due to the fact the car is mapped
17965 - charge pressure control positive deviation - this I cant understand ?

Any help would be great
Cheers
Gregor

Changed my battery recently so that may be why I'm getting the voltage code. It's the scream on boost I'm wondering about

Before I fitted everything I was in limp mode anyway due to my cat being ****ed.

Yeah I think it will be a boost leak im just wondering where to look first instead of wasting a load of time

itll be the wank jubilees in the kit mate! (presuming its a universal jobbie)

mine screamed like a bitch when i first did it and took it up the road, was a very tiny leak too!

i got someone to rev my car while i listened round the joins, soon found it, threw crappy jubilee away, replaced with something half worth a wank and good as gold :)

until another one blew off when giving it some welly in 3rd gear (once again thanks to a crappy jubilee)

Been out and checked my downpipe nuts are tight - all spot on.

Checked and tightened all intercooler clamps.

Out in the car to 7 psi - limp mode from the very start.

Came back and scanned for codes - 17965 - charge pressure control positive deviation

Is this code not overboost ?

Yup....

Have you done the N249 bypass...

its a k03s now aint it?
When did it start doing it?

17965/P1557/005463 - Charge Pressure Control: Positive Deviation
Possible Symptoms
Reduced power output
Limp mode
Possible Causes
Boost Pressure too High
Hoses/Pipes incorrect connected, disconnected, blocked or leaking
Charger Pressure Control defective
VNT (variable nozzle turbo): nozzles stuck
Solenoid Valve for Boost Pressure Control (N75) defective
Possible Solutions
Check Hoses/Pipes to/between Components
Check Solenoid Valve for Boost Pressure Control (N75)
Check / Clean / Replace Charge Pressure Control
Check / Clean mechanism for variable nozzles

i had the charge pressure positive deviation fault code recently on my TDi, it turned out to be a simnple vacum hose on the top of the air box had popped off! and it took me ages to figure out what that fault code was at first, 9 out of 10 times its a simple loose pipe or maybe a split pipe!

i read somewhere that you can eliminate the vanes being stuck by running some sort of test routine via vag com and you can eliminate the N75 valve by changing the Vac hoses over with the EGR control valve (right next to the N75 on the bulk head) and seeing if it runs properly!
However this was relevant to my TDi so im not 100% if you can do this on yours!

Hope this helps though!
