I Purchased A Leon Cupra At The End Of Feb On A 03 Reg.
The Car Had 4 Months Of Mot Left And Has Failed On Its Mot.
The Rear Silence Was The Cause
Would This Be Covered Under The Warranty ?? Or Can I File A Claim Against The Dealer, For Not Doing Their Checks Before A Car Goes Out ??

I think your car is out of warranty. The dealer would probably argue that silencers can fail suddenly and it was ok when they checked it.

Push them for a goodwill payment towards the replacement.

Was a 3 year warranty if I remember,so dont think you'll be able to claim on that.Dont know how easy/difficult it would be to claim against the dealer as it may well be put down to wear and tear?

Did you get any warranty when you bought the car? Probably only applies if you bought it from a dealer.

Exhausts aren't often covered under warranty though in any case.

the car came with 12 months warranty, so it should have been checked at the time of purchase

ok so you have a 12 month warranty from date of sale, so yes the car is warranty covered. however, im yet to see a warranty that covers exhaust pipes other than the original manufacture warranty.

still, i think they may well be helpful from a good will point of view.
ask them, you may be surprised.
