I'm gonna get booked in at shark this week for dpf removal and remap with egr delete. Still really can't decided between stage 1 and 2 and can't afford the STS at the same time.

Is stage 2 too smoky for daily use or is it ok? Also will it pass mot on stage 2. Iv read through the entire post and ppl say about passing the mot but without knowing the level of map there running it doesn't really help haha

I would go with stage 1 until you can afford their sts and stage 2 to go with it mate if your worried about smoke, you saw how bad mine was on stage 2 lol.

Benzy be prepared to be back in the exhaust shop for a silencer fiting after the dpf is removed that thing stops so much noise its umbalivable

and once its remove and you have a straight thru system its one of the loadest tdi engines i have herd

be warned :)

make sure you tell shark to monitor egt's

i see lots of ther cars running 950c+ egt not so clever when the customer is not informed

Just got off the phone booked in for stage 2 with shark. He didn't seem too keen on doing it and was advising me to only go for stage 1 :S couldn't really work out y but he didn't seem too confident so now I'm a bit worried.

Ill have to pay a quick visit to my mates to get a silencer put in before the drive to Devon next week then haha

I'm not sure what you guys class as stage 2, but I know when I had mine done a month or two ago shark classed stage 2 as the sort of power you get with uprated turbos/injectors/SMF etc so probably looking above 220bhp and that's probably the reason they're wary about going to 'stage 2'. Mines at 212 and the smokes silly enough so any more is rediculous.

stage 1 = 200 bhp

stage 2 = 205 to 220 depending on smoke levels and what the customer wants

stage 2+ = hybrid turbo to around 235bhp

stage 3 = i would say is bigger turbo (injectors are still hard and exspensive to find for these
but you are looking at 250 - 270

stage is just a word a certain company uses to justify the power output

i would just prefer to call it a custom remap made to work with the mods the customer has

Ye I agree. I said I was looking for something between 1 and 2. Asked to start at stage 2 and bring it down slowly until the smoke levels r acceptable. Ill b happy with 210 tbh

to be honest the trade off in smoke at 220 and 210 i think 210 is way more aceptable 220 is very smokey and for an extra 10bhp that you probably carnt even feel

id say the 210 is the beter option but it depends what kind of person you are and how much you liek cleaning your car

The smoke output on my FR isn't too bad it just depends how far you want to goi guess. My car's mapped to 215bhp and my only gripe is that i have to clean the back of the car more often lol hope all goes well mate

I sold the car and put it back to standard.

I love the noise it sounded like a V8 Scania, Alot truck drivers used to give me the horn or flash haha

My exhaust was made for me by Scorpion as a one off (They used my car to develop a MK2 Cat-back) and it was made in conjunction with STR (Special Tuning Racing WTCC Team) well actually STR paid for it.

Their WTCC Driver/Team owner Tom Boardman also drives a Scania with straight through exhaust on it and he was even shocked to how loud my car was it was almost as loud as his Scania.

I still miss it today (Half the fact is my LCR is sooooooooooooo quiet)

But truth is i work shifts im either going to work at 6am or returning from work at 7am and it was far to loud for that time of day, im not even sure if it would of passed a MOT due to the noise

There's a video on youtube of a white FR with the BTCC pack doing a drive by with the miltek cat-back on. I'm not sure if that's someone on here but its sounds epic, got me considering getting one. It didn't sound silly loud until he was giving it some beans, though its only a video so not the most reliable thing ever
