leon s front pipe fitment

Hi guys

Have search forum but cant find any info.

I had to replace the cat on my leon s 2002MY. as the original is one piece from the down pipe i had to get a new cat pipe and a new front pipe.

I wasnt about to give seat the money they wanted for fitting, or even the local exhaust place.

Got the parts they look good, got some new gaskets etc.

Removed old pipe, now im stick.

Try as i might i cant get the new front pipe over the the subframe (steering rack etc)
Im wondering if its because i cant get the car high enough to get the right angle.

Does anyone know if i need to drop the subframe a bit to get the exhaust over. I cant imagine it would be designed like that, hense the two pieces.

I wont be trying this at home, so will be towing it to a mates grae if i do.

Any ideas?

Thanks

i presume the old pipe came off ok, and if this is compared to the new part they are the same dimensions..?
in which case it does fit.

when people get after martet down pipes fitted on faster versions of the leon, most places will drop the subframe, but this is not always required.

hi
The old pipe i cut off, as it went from the down pipe all the way past the cat, 1/2 the car really (factory fit i guess before subframe). the new pipe is in two sections
1)down pipe to just past the sub frame, just past mount
2)from near the mount to just past the cat where it meetsrar section.

The front pipe is bent to go under sump and then bent up to go over subframe.

cant post a picture yet
