Hi - orange engine light came on today (Mk1 Leon 2002 20VT) and VAGCOM
reports the following :-

17524 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor Heating; B1 S1: Open Circuit
P1116 - 35-00 - -

17511 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor Heating; B1 S1: Performance too Low
P1103 - 35-00 - -

Anyone had these codes and resolved them yourself ? And which sensor is
the code relating to (B1 S1), pre or post cat ?

Ta,

Yorkie.

had a few problems with the lambda probes on my motor, not the ones you're seeing btw, the stealer fixed them under warranty. i would say you've got a bust lambda sensor but i'm sure the more knowledgeable ones on here will be able to confirm or deny that

sensor B1=S1 is the pre cat sensor and B1-S2 is the post cat sensor

Me again - no luck locating the lambda sensor - I don't even known where the turbo is!! :)

For reference, I know where the DV is as I put a Forge one in there earlier this year.

Anyone got more numptie-like instructions for locating this thing (and what it looks like) ?

Ta.

No Big.

While we're talking about Lambda faults - I had this one this morning:

16524 - O2 Sensor Circuit - Slow Response (Bank 1 Sensor 2) B

Anyone have any idea?

Your car is slowly dying on you phil get a new one ;)

They are not meant to last for the life of the car mate they are prone to failing due to the harsh environment they work in! But as you know with fault code, it may not be the raised fault that is the problem :(

Yeah, there was me feeling all chuffed that mine seemed to be running well after I put the green top in.

Then this morning it gave that characteristic little "chug" so I vag-com'd it. I gave me a "system too rich" error, which I cleared, then about 15mins later got a big hesitation and that Lambda one popped up [:@]

I hope it's just one of those "they do that from time to time" ones...

"those in the know" are say that a dodgy MAF is more Likely to give "system too lean" errors.

Yep mine threw the Lambda fault code but it was the MAF, no "tooRich" code....suspect the Lambda code was due to running a little lean :( ....scary stuff.....MAF from GSF on exchange was cheaper than I thought though less than £100

I've had a MAF fault thrown before including the dash light and full limp mode - cleaned it and thought it was fine. Maybe it's not fine then...
