My fog light Glass "had" a big crack all the way around it on my Leon FR

My last service a couple of weeks ago they told me it was a STAGGERING £149 to replace the glass!

I left it, as I though it was just a bit cosmetic, but today when washing I notice there is now a hole where the glass once was. So I do need to get it replace otherwise the next thing to go will be the bulb.

Is £149 reasonable for a piece of glass? Can I get this done anywhere else?

A new light unit (with glass) is about £85 from the dealer and it takes about 15 mins to remove and refit (and I'm crap with cars). I've done two driver side ones now and they aren't tricky. The only nasty bit is being brave when pulling the grill off! There's only a small number of torx screws to remove and its done. Don't pay the stealers for this one matey.

I paid £10 on e-bay from someone breaking a car. Took about 2 mins to fit.

If you can't get the right side then the other side can turned upside down and "adjusted" with a hacksaw to make it fit. (Well the mk1 Leon one can)

As you look at the car, its the right hand side (passenger side). The light inside is fine, its just the glass on the bumper as shown.

I can't believe how much a bit of glass costs, especially considering how easy it was to smash it because its so low.

If you do have one, let me know, it it really that easy to fit it? Maybe Ted Johnson quoted me £149 fitted?

No, I think that they are the MK1 prefacelift ones. Scrub what I said about being able to use the otherside. I have no idea if you can on the FR they are quite different.

Thanks mate. So do they just pop out, no need to take off the bumper or anything drastic. Even if I can get the parts from Mr Seat, and do it myself it should then be a lot cheaper than £150.
