Hi guys pretty new to these engines. Got a 2009 Leon FR 2.0 Tdi 170 BMN.

The car absolutely stinks of raw diesel on idle and after a while of idling starts to white smoke, driving sometimes is fine it feels like it drives okay and othertimes feels extremely flat and returns poor MPG.. 30ish mpg isnt why i bought a diesel

Read loads of stuff online about these engines, should of done this before buying.. id of probably left it!

So first ive checked the torsion value and L/H on the diagnostics machine at work tonight and the figures are attached. Does this need tweeking first port of call?

Or am i right in thinking it will require injector/s or the injector loom? Im getting no engine fault codes at all...

Any advice is appreciated

I had a similar issue to this, I had to adjust the camshafts to adjust the torsion 0 and the fueling to 0.6, I read that some cars run better at different settings so may need a bit of trial and error.

Got the exact same model and engine, just had very similar issues of super strong smell and white smoke on idle, jerking in 1st and 2nd when cold and fluctuating idle. Turned out to be the egr, currently got a blanking plate on mine as a temporary fix but it solved all the above issues I had instantly, however cant comment on how it holds up long term

also check the head block, my mates PD170 few years back did similar and it appear he had a hairline crack (probably due to the aggressive map) he had on it
2nd option check EGR as mentioned.
3rd option check injector loom then injectors
